I just checked out their site. I thought it sounded good for the value but then I read it only has 55 3w lights.. Pretty small for $375 I think

you only looking at one panel but im running the old 90w with 1w diodes and i bet the 135 upgrade using 45 3w diodes beats the pants off my 90w and the 90w had mad penetration even at 120 degrees the whole plant was bushy and thick i want to get the 300w panel they got but looks like getting two 165w gets me more power at a cheaper price so i dunno
The Isis models do look to be pretty competetive compared to the spectra, I dont however, see much about the nanometers, core penetration or any of the other important data. Lastly the claim that the unit replaces 2 1000w is questionable at best. I could see two 300-450w possibly covering the same area.

...................... your retarded. People on here are bugging out over a 250 dollar panel and you suggest that tech that is still 1200-6000 is going to beat it out. I've seen decently priced plasma units and they will change growing but not before led gets more mainstream.

as my light guy told me the claims of 300w = 1000w and such only apply to veg an nothin else you wanna match a 1000w hps all the way you want 500 or 600w led mininum

I'd say even 700-800 LED Watts with (mostly) true 3w diodes ONLY is more realistic to match a 1000W HPS based on weeks of digging through LED vendor BS and several finished journals.

My 240w blackstar has 3 loud ass fans on the top that probably push 40cfm each. The heat still builds up right around the led, but I just put a box fan in the closet and it solved the heating issue. I'm worried about summer though, this is my first grow an first summer... with a heated closet lol.

Im concerned with the heat as well. Id say my a 4ft 8 tube would run cooler then 2 blackstars.
And the fans are loud as fuck. Could of went stealthier in that aspect. My fishtank/coralife light and fan on my fish tank drown it out. Im going to try placing a fan above the units blowing down on them and see if that helps.

Im not retarded, plasma will be something that will change light all together. I'm not saying buy one. Just look at the technology. Main thing thats intriguing is industrial use in the short term. Go flame someone else dumbass.

I have an ISIS. Their red leds are all 3W which is where the penetration is critical IMHO.

I think after spending too many hours reading manufactureres specs I just focus on results. The plants LedBudGuy grew with his ISIS weren't exactly giants but they were way taller than a scrog canopy and penetration sure didn't seem like it was a problem on that one. 1.7 grams per watt is the benchmark and until someone puts up bigger numbers ISIS is king of the hill. I'd like to take a run at that but gotta get some kinks worked out of the sytem and by then someone will probably have raised the bar which is cool because I'd like to see a few manufacturers churning out LED's that produce more than 1.5 grams per watt so that the HID boys can go drive off into the sunset in their propeller airplanes

I tested it with my friend's killowatt meter and the unit only draws 75 watts total.
I am going to contact the store I purchased it from and bitch but I don't expect to get a replacement unit which actually draws the 90 watts it should.
75 watts, 12 of which goes to the 3 fans.... That leaves 63 watts to power the 90 LED's.
Each LED is receiving .7 watts. I would suggest everyone hold out until some honest manufacturer released a unit which provides AT LEAST 1watt per led.
EDIT: I will also say LED lights are not meant to be the only source of light. They are the best at providing quality light at the wavelengths they are designed for but plants require a very wide range of complementary lights as well. 440nm, 460nm, 620nm, 640nm, 660nm, 720nm etc. I find a crap load of cfl's help a bunch too.

I am hoping i can beat this with my custom made led lights. They arrived yesterday and look mighty fine. Im not far away form finishing my cab now so then i can get on with it.
Im not really going to count my first grow as a proper test because it will be the first time ever i have grown but after a grow or two i will be looking at pushing 2g per watt. I feel for the extra cash i spent this is reasonable.
If i can match an isis i wont be unhappy as such but i feel as i have spent extra money i want better results.

Just chopped my GDP LED last night...the yield was less than imressive, but this wasnt my grow from the beginning, so i will be doing things to increase yield and whatnot. The trichome production was incredible tho. There is hope for these LED bastards!!

dat isis grow is using a lot of extra co2 i dont think you gonna push close to a gram per watt without it

Yes, 2g per watt is ambitious. It will take you 3-4 harvests to get a bit closer to dialing it in. I would dial back your expectations unless you want to be disappointed. You should be happy with 1g/W to start.
To be fair my first grow i would be happy with 1g per watt, the 2nd grow i will scrog so hopefully that will increase yeild somewhat then the third grow ill add C02 and see where that takes me.
These CREE XP-E bulb are the business, much brighter that those that came before them so im hoping these will give me a better chance of a good yeild.

I tend to believe this guy as he isnt selling lights and has slowly improved his led set up to where he is now. Im looking forward to seeing his 8th attempt.
