I would wait until Spring and take a look at the new ProSource light, it is going to change the whole L.E.D. market. Also the pricing will be significantly different as apposed to current
L.E.D. prices. They plan to make L.E.D. more accessable and to have new technology that will surpass all others.

About time prosource comes out with something new. Do you have any links or additional info you can share?

WOW...IVE grown for many many years using hps and mh...usually 3 to 5 k grows, im now trying my first t-5 for veg (impressed) ....also, because im not suppling 10 ppl s habit ,as i only grow personal now, im totally sold on trying LED, SEEMS THE BLACKSTAR IS IN THE RUNNING FOR ME @ 240 WATT X 2, I will keep my traditional set-up going(just smaller 2-k) , i will keep peeps posted on my grow as a first time LED user.ive learned alot from this thread its a goood one, but cant help but notice the immaturity of the kno-it-all ego....anyway, i would like to be in constant and personel contact with a true LED grower for some personal pointers and tech.....u should be able to prove grows via pics and so on.....dont want no rookies as i been doin this 30 years plus out on the BC coast...just experienced growers whome have made the switch to LED.

I own 6 of their 180W Illuminators, so I am really interested to see what they're gonna roll out.

What sort of things have you seen happen when you get the light too close? I think I put my blackstar 500 too close to some young plants and the foliage died and turned brown. Anyone have advice for led height?

I used a 90W LED to start from seed. It worked fine. I germinated them in a plastic bag and when I saw the white tap root, I planted them in a soiless mix and waited for them to sprout 3 days later.

i was thinking of going with the 90w UFO for seeding but if im already buying the pro grow 180 (was actually planning on buy two but using one for seeding) would i need the 90w? i guess ill have to "trial and error" with the 180 once i start to grow... how far was the LED from the plant during seeding?

foliage turning white and limp in random bands, pretty sure it was LED related or just a huge coincidence

i'll have pics of the new Blackstar Chrome series up on monday night was hoping to have it by now but it's sitting in a shipping warehouse 40miles from me, stupid UPS :) wish i would have got sat delivery now. but i'll get it monday and have pics up that night :)

and as far as pricing goes they guys at gotham hadn't set the price yet but they were hinting at $350 for the 4 spot model. i got a deal since i'm sending back my blackstar 180w HO light

You would think BMW would be trying to beef up the worst part of its experience-its handling/roadholding on anything except dry roads, I have a very good pal who paid £12500 for a used BMW just over 2 years ago & last year due to snow/Ice it couldnt move or get out the drive, however all his Audi owning neighbours got to work, never got stuck and generally laughed at most other car makes.
In the midst of one of UKs worst winters he decided after no Xmas shopping trips except in friends 4x4s to get rid of-£6500 he got trading against a Rav4-when he complained the dealer said we are inundated with Mercedes & BMW owners trading for 4x4 consequentially there is a massive surplus of rwd cars we cant sell. Enough said.

The blackstar chrome looks legit, very similar to the fero and apollo from cidly. Do you know if the parts are modular, meaning if one peice goes out can you just ship back that part and do a self replacement ala the new penetrators? Can't wait to see this guy in action!
