Your plant looks great and I ain't got no beef with you brother -- just trying to make the point that for cannabis specifically, some of the LEDs in the full spectrum lights could be replaced with blue/red and may produce more productive plants compared to the lesser used spectrums. Sure that'll be proved one way or the other over time.

No beef at all,just pointing out its not green man ;), seriously and 3 diodes of turquoise isnt a waste,I do get what you are saying,and I am not disagreeing as such just saying that from my experience with lights that this light has given me my healthiest plant,maybe not the largest,but I havent had a single issue with her,and have done every thing the same as I would normally same feed,same scheduled,my own take on 12/12 from seed(I give them a week 18/6 or 20/4 to put out roots,then switch), literally the growth is explosive and I have used T5 and cfl and hps,and obviously I have friends too that use various lights,only 3 weeks ago she was in a 8 cm pot,and was a 4 inch bush with 6 nodes,now she is the monster you see :). So no beef at all,and now I have given all the facts hopefully my point makes sense :)

over on the led growers feed back program a guy is running the solar storm next to 1000 watt metal halide and they vegged exactly the same hes 5 weeks into flower and the plant is identical. ill see if I can find a link

hey fellas, back for a check in, i'm one month into flower with my blackstar chrome 4 spot model i've got a DP blueberry and a TH Seeds Buku under it. looking good so far.

the buku is way behind the BB but its not know to be a big producer. frankly i'm surprised at the development of the buku she's known to be a bud on a stick and not very branchy but with me taking off the lowest buds she's still got a lil bush going under her main cola

looking good so far how many watts is that and actual watts drawn as well?

So with 60ct 3W LEDs (based on Cidly Apollo panel design, which I have shown some details about on another thread here on RIU), these LEDs are very likely driven at higher input current, perhaps 700ma or 730ma) and the panel probably draws nearly the same running power as your Blackstar240w (80ct 3W LEDs driven at 630ma)

which if they are indeed running at 700-730ma input current, that would calculate to something right around 123-128watts for just the LEDs, and whatever else you add on for the 'new generation' Blackstar a.k.a. Apollo fans... that's my guess anyway...

so yeah based on the wattage and spectrums involved, [which don't appear to be all that significantly different to me... the Chrome is a little less Red-heavy, and ditched the IR and UV diodes in exchange for more White], I would expect similar performance... not taking into consideration the angle of the secondary optical lenses and any differences that might exist there, but yeah...

May just not be too many differences at 4 weeks too... perhaps the chrome will outperform the old model by end of flower we'll see :) Actually those plants look about the same as my lagging pheno that hasn't developed a ton in the last week... my better 4 week pheno quite a bit chunkier and more buds than those at a month, but hard to compare strains too - have those been under the chrome all of flower? Here's mine from last night (day 28) - first one looks pretty close to those pics above second one much more development i think - of course these are under more wattage too not just one blackstar so that could be relevant as well -- still pretty close. I think the white LEDs have a lot more light intensity. My veg blackstar puts off a lot more luminous light it seems than my flowering ones do, and it's close to white light in appearance. I am actually thinking the flower plants might benefit from having 2 veg & 2 flower in there as opposed to 4 flower models.

Glad I did a google search on this because I was concerned when I looked at the light and saw these two out.

Is there any harm in leaving both switches on during the whole flowering cycle? I've read a few posts where people turn off the whites during the last few weeks of flowering, but I'm going to be having some other plants go in the room that will be weeks behind my first.

WARNING TO ALL! Don't use Sunshine-systems grow spot, at least not the bloom booster Led all red model i got, its a hermi light! my first grow i thought it was a random happening because it was a new auto strain and wasn't being released so blamed it on genetic, now in my 2nd grow i had it over a photo period buku and got a male flower growing but didn't think anyting since buku is know to hermi, but its been sitting over my Dutch passion blueberry for a few days and now i found 4 male flowers all right under this light! i'm not even sure how a particular light spectrum can cause hermi in plants but this can't be a random happening anymore!
