No worries about bashing so don't take it personal when I ruin yours...lol :-) It's all about being informed consumers and cutting through the adspeak and marketing B.S. In a perfect world we would know what we are buying but it ain't so I like to do some research. Anyway, maybe re-read my post. I never made any claim that my Magnums had CREE LED's. I said that Stealth Grow were the only ones who use them. Maybe you think that Stealth Grow make my lights but it is a different company. I was well aware that the panels I bought used Bridgelux and in fact I was looking for Bridgelux panels because I couldn't afford to buy CREE and as a former employee in commercial electronics who purchased LED's (although not horticultural) I knew that Bridgelux was pretty much number 2 in the industry.

I sure didn't say that I'd have bought Blackstar if they were more money. I was just pointing out some simple math. An led panel that RETAILS for $250 can't contain $274 worth of WHOLESALE parts. I'm not sure exactly what went on with the whole Blackstar/Growboys scam but it certainly threw some doubt on their credibility. When the number don't add up on other claims is makes me think that they're not credible. If you research some of my posts on here I've actually suggested that people buy Blackstar if that's what they can afford and that it will grow pot. I just don't think it's reasonable to compare them to better quality products.

On another observational error, I can't speak for the Americans you mention throwing their money away as you can clearly see under my Avatar I am Canadian :-)

As for me wasting my money.......have you looked at my grow journal? Does it look like my lights aren't working?

Anyway, the whole point of being on here is education. You are the first person I have found that used Blackstar exclusively to grow. I will be watching your weighout because I'd like to figure out what the grams per watt and the grams per dollar spent is because in the end that's the only way to figure out if something works which is why I'm journaling the 357's. If they suck, and they sure don't seem like it so far, then maybe I can make sure no one else wastes their money.

Anyway, you just cropped out and I have 6 weeks to go so right now your Blackstar is kicking my ass......but I'm coming.....:-)
right on bossman, it sounded like u were saying u got the 357 magnum because it costed mored, and I believe blackstar uses bridgelux as well......and to be quite honest all the different led's for example blackstar and the 357 magnum probably both come from china, they just painted the unit a different color and requested certain led's in the unit itself

So the moral of the story is my led works and so does yours.....you jast payed over twice as much

BLACKSTAR IS MANUFACTURED IN CHINA!

I'm copying and pasting some old information from a post i made before

My only problem is that they pretend like they get them, when THEY MAKE THEM. You wouldn't catch it from watching the videos, but if you go to the website of the manufacturer of the black star, the exact same phone number is listed for the manufacturer as the retail business Gotham Hydro.... Also they claim that their stuff is 100% made in USA...... then what the hell is this BS

Blackstar... Manufactured in China, if you happen to be in Pingu, Shenzen, you should see how many children it takes to put one together.

If you happen to be in america, you should stop by the store to see how many assholes named John M Stockmeyer are trying to take you for a fool.

Back stars seem to work but I decided against them when the supposed owner and manufacturer of the light couldn't even tell me what kind of leds are in his own unit. I was told 10% cree then the rest bridgelux and a few more some brand he didn't know the name of. And he didn't know the different wavelengths or angle of the leds when I talked to him. Seems like a good unit for the money but I chose a different brand.

Feel free to call them and ask about the lights, he offered good prices over the phone also but I want confident buying from them with those sketchy answers.

I purchased my lights from hydroponics hut. Haven't flowered with them yet but they ate doing great vegging

I got a 260, & 550w units from them

They are not black, silver and has switchable spectrums (can turn on only the white lights out only the red, or both together )

Silver! I can definitely do silver. Sweet units though. Thanks for sharing that. I'm looking them up.

Edit: looked them up.... Bro, they sell a unbelievably cheap Plasma Lamp. I kinda want to just try it out. $119 for a little 50w plasma. I'm completely down to get that.

They are great quality and I am very impressed.

Tell ben at hydro hut that cereall recommended you and he might help you with a price break or free shipping at least

I too have been very curious about their plasma lamp, waiting for someone to test it out lol

I sure did pay twice as much....so here's hoping I got twice the light and it produces two times what a Blackstar will....lol

A guy on here (LedBudGuy) pulled just under 5.5 oz per 170W panel (27oz 6 grams with 850W from 5 panels) from the same company that makes mine so I guess I got "high" hopes :-)

Shipping is free, storewide. I returned my burnt out induction bulb for a refund. Great while it works, but I must've had a surge or something.

I'm now using smaller induction bulbs from inductionlamps.com.

@ Kush Grove, Viagro, HudsonValley I'm new to Kessil lights. First I heard of them was KG when he bashed me :-) Looks like my old LED spotlight that had some high power LED's and a really focused lens for intensity. 32Watts of LED and $300? Covers a 2x2 area at 18". You guys used these and what's the deal? Trying to figure out what advantage or use they might have.
Go to Kessil.com and read the new breed of LED page. It explains their intensified lightsream.

Closer to $200. One place has them for 206, Greners has them for 215.

I couldn't fit my Blackstar in my little tent, so I bought a Kessil magenta. I've used it start to finish and am nearing the end of my first run. Impressive little light, I'm thinking about getting another.

Nice. Blackstar surely does ship from the USA then. Ebay has to be the best way, since it's Gotham's online store. Better prices on their ebay store than their official website too.

Where can I find SOLID reading on LED's it will only be my second grow however I had to borrow the 430 HPS I"m using now for my first grow and I have a reaaaly bad feeling I"m not going to be happy with the bill. I would love to be on the cutting edge of growing if at all possible and LED seem to really be great for me since I"m going to get a 4x4 tent. If anyone has any good sites that they don't want to mention here feel free to PM me..thanks
