Not blaming anybody, simply stating an opinion. Racism has always, and will always be with us, like it or not. You will never entirely rid the world of it, just as you will never eliminate poverty, greed, war, injustice, etc. I was accused of being racist for writing up an African American firefighter who was late damn near every shift. Not just 5 minutes either and not just once or twice. He was talked to. He was counselled, to no avail. When I was finally forced to take action I was immediately assaulted with accusations and flat out called a racist. The fucked up part is I was then investigated for it, even though there was absolutely no basis for it. This one seemingly insignificant incident nearly cost me my career. I was painted racist simply because I was accused of it. This was far from an isolated incident. My wife is in management and has been accused of it on numerous occasions, usually whenever she has to discipline an African American employee. This does not happen with the Hispanic employees. We are far from the only country who enslaved Africans, yet we seem to be the only country struggling with these problems. I agree that racism is horrible but what does this Political Correctness actually solve? Not a damn thing!Political Correctness is the bi-product of Racism.
It exists because of hate and private banks.
Trying to blame the people of today for political correctness is silly.

I think the term "racist" is often used a bit too loosely in today's society. Personally, I agree with you, we should not be using derogatory names when referring to an entire race of human beings. At the same time, I believe the whole PC crap is partially responsible for perpetuating the whole race issue in this country. The media often doesn't help matters either. We fear that which we do not understand. This often manifests itself in agressive, and ugly ways from time to time.I had to confront my own issues of racism when I achieved rank of E4 in the USAF.
I realized that within me I had such programming that I came into direct conflict with myself when it came to being in power over others.
I can totally understand.
But Damn the Coward that confronts such a devil and embraces the impulse to offend.
It's a useless troll to toss out racist terms and find racist buddies.. I think RagHead can be avoided.
What has it to do with the poster? It's was his tell that he was caught up in it not mine. I faced my devil in 1983. I saw the influence of my Southern Teenage years on my very mental processes and I considered myself not racist.
Lets face it. We will hunt a rabbit for food but we spend little time understanding the fear in his eyes.
When we reduce a human to livestock, we label him as something less than equal to ourselves we fail to see that fear in our own eyes and it's there my friend. Death comes for us all.

I hope you think that was address to you ...hmmm after reading it I can see if you did...I know not all...lots fought for civil rights ...I'm talking about a certain breed that thinks screaming racism is overly used...Hell sometimes its not used enuff..again sorry Ernest that was in no way address to you ..let me editLets White = Ignorant of human suffering.
Anything out of place with that?
What is more interesting that there is spin to try and defeat a white man standing up against such hatred.
Think about that one.
I watched the speech and thought he did well . I think he answered the call very well and did exactly what he said he would do. America had a real black eye for many years in the worlds ( and natos ) eyes for the b.s. from the bush years . I think the handeling of this situation will help heal a lot of old wounds inflicted from previous administrations . I would love to believe in my country again and feel it may be on the right track at last . Go ahead and chew me up if you want .. but I would love to have pride in America again . I think Obama got off to a rocky start but I feel he has found his footing .. so to speak... and is moving the right direction now . I even noticed a bunch of republicans gave him a standing ovation after the speech ... never thought i would see that happen ! I had my doubts about him for a bit also , but im glad I voted for him here lately .. oh yea , about the racism thing ... nigger is a state of mind not a skin color - Iv'e met them from multiple races , but fortunately I have met many more wonderful peeps from these same races .. sry for the rambling but Im pretty sheened at the moment ; )![]()
There are those who rise above it and there are those who would rather use it as a convenient crutch. We are all products of our environment whether we like it or not, but it doesn't mean we can't better ourselves. I've lived in a different culture, so I have had a taste of what it's like to be in the minority. Hell, I'm the minority where I am right now! I'm here to help these people, yet I've actually had a couple of people refuse to let me care for their ailments/injuries. I've been on the other end of ignorance and intolerance. Look, I don't want to derail this entire thread and let it descend into a racism debate. I don't agree with TTT's casual use of the term "raghead". That said, I see his point about this oversensitivity about race. I think his surprise at that oversensitivity is a testament to just how different cultures view race. I also believe, as mentioned before, that political correctness helps perpetuate racial disharmony. Nothing I'd love to see more than for racial tensions disappear.Lets see, White = Ignorant of human suffering.

Prove that is a rag. Can't do it huh.
Id wipe my bar down with it.... after I bleached it.
The Golden Rule or ethic of reciprocity is a maxim,[1] ethical code, or morality[2] that essentially states either of the following:
The Golden Rule is arguably the most essential basis for the modern concept of human rights, in which each individual has a right to just treatment, and a reciprocal responsibility to ensure justice for others.[3] A key element of the Golden Rule is that a person attempting to live by this rule treats all people with consideration, not just members of his or her in-group. The Golden Rule has its roots in a wide range of world cultures, and is a standard which different cultures use to resolve conflicts.[1][4]
- One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself (positive form)[1]
- One should not treat others in ways that one would not like to be treated (negative/prohibitive form, also called the Silver Rule)
