you water the plants when they need it and u put the light as close as you can...............................that doesnt sound helpful does it?!
basically with watering u water your plant until sum run off comes out and u leave it it until its dry, they way to gauge this is by lifting the plant pot up and feeling the weight of it, if its heavy the soil has still got water in it, if its light it doesnt. i find every 2 to 3 days is about the usual , 3 days in younger plants normally. as for the light there is only one basic rule , you put your hand at the top of your plants and pull the light down until its a pleasantly warm heat on your skin, if its burning your hand its too close, if you cant feel it its too far away, usually your talking about 12" to 18" away. the space between the top of your canopy and the light is ideal too have afan blowing thru it, this allows the light a little closer and cuts down on the possibility of burning, strengthens your plant by resistance(like lifting weights at the gym) and helps air flow around your grow reducing the likelihood of mould, mildew, bug infestation and all sorts of shit. hope that helps
