Light Bleaching under LEDs.

Now I just grow because I love to. Makes it so much less stress and allows me to really actually enjoy doing what I like doing instead of slaving at it like a 9-5 job. It was fun doing guerilla but it was FN work. Not to mention the stresses that come with the title. Glad I'm done. Glad I did too.

Yeah, the legal side is pretty stress free. Only stress I go through is "are they gonna finish without problems?", "Are my labs gonna be good enough to be marketable?"...."Did I leave the water running in the rez?"..... Oh shit!... be right back.. LOL!

I agree with the not light bleaching concensus. High ec, lead to lockout possibly. That's a big temp swing 60-90. I personally keep rh lower in flower. They definitely cannibalizing themselves. I also think running 16 test stains on a Virgin grow was a mistake then pushing 2 ec. Also a booboo.

Honestly man it was something about being a rebel and doing something 'bad' and so off the beaten path as such a young kid that got my rocks off. Once it became legal it was like hmm ok what's next. Lol

Was it running? Lol. Fuck I always leave the water running on my ro.

Man, I live pretty remote. Back in 2008 or so, I had a garden that was 60x600 ft. I grew all kinda veggies, but!, I had a long ass row of tomatoes that was one weed plant, one tomato plant … I would clip the fruits of the neighboring tomato plant, and hang it on the cage of the pot plant.
One day, a helicopter comes in low and fast as I was picking some okra… my heart sank as it pulled back hard and stopped just over my field. I knew I was done. I looked ahead of the chopper, and there was a flock of geese in thier flight path. Military. I saw the emblems on the craft. They continued on to the local base 30 miles away. I must have sat on that bucket for 30 minutes while my heart rate came back down.

First, anyone growing under LED should consider buying a quantum PAR meter. Period. Very affordable and the one I have recharges via USB. But if you are growing a shitload it’s an absolute must. The reluctance to buy is odd considering most of you have probably bought multiple pH meters when litmus paper or test drop kits are more than adequate. I do mean more than adequate even in hydro. Go try one in a store under an LED and see the difference an inch or two makes.

First of thanks for all these timely replies. Now, as to the Heat, our mini split ac IS broken. it was new, and sprung a coolant leak. We are limping with a backup ac, I have a second backup ac i will likely install in the next day or 2. I am Totally New to Hydro, i always grew soil back in SC, never measured EC. I did not grow at all for 8 years. started back for a couple years and stopped again. then this job showed up, I was rusty coming in. The mothers in soil are doing fine.. It was not my idea to run all these strains on my first run.. hazes, indicas, mixes... its research and development as the bossman puts it and was his plan, lights table, co2, everything his plan. We did not expect our well water to RO so high, we did not expect the ac to die right when we started needing it, and the part to take for ever coming. I certainly didnt expect this much trouble with the grow, maybe i should have. Now all that said. I am going to sift through all these replies, and I ask you guys to keep em coming. No we do no plan to sell this run, it was as i say, a research run and we have had problems. Mind some of those pics with dark buds are also Purple bud, so expect the buds to be dark.

I can take constructive criticism all day, especially when i know i have issues. what did lead me to bleaching is that some outside plants look fine and i can actually see outlines of upper leaf shadows on some discolored leaves (look for lines of red and green and red and white). As for dropping the lights down, part was to combat the heat, part was for the bleaching, but you guys say thats not it. I will post a few of the healthier plants. It may be tomorrow lights are off till 2 am.

If you wanna be a smart ass and say im a problem cuz im struggling, well im not gonna say what im thinking. My Mama told me not to say anything if i cant say something nice. But if you think maybe im not a problem and you just jumped to conclusions maybe try to help educate someone who IS in a bit over their head.

Again please keep the input coming.

have a look at this outter plant. almost no discoloration.. there are more of these on the outside that look generally healthy, its what confused me.20220420_140110.jpg

This is solid advice. And had been on my mind, I will bring this up and will likely have one in a few days. He does listen when i tell him i need things.
please keep the solid advice coming. Even you JJ i know you have solid advice, not just here to break my balls. shit man break my balls some more, but give some solid advice.

Drop EC, lower C02, keep lights full. If you guys think im bad, you should have seen the 2 he had in here before me. I know it looks like i dont know my asshole from my elbow (and I barely do with hydro), but i know my asshole somewhere around my balls.

Equipment failures happen. I guess one of my first questions would be ... why did he have you send them into flower so early? I mean.. what is that plant,... like 14 inches tall?

I like your attitude.
What is the Ec of the well water before running it through the RO?
If you are sure the ro is working properly it might be a good idea to get the water tested before and after running it through the ro to see what is not being removed.

Are the problem plants the same strain?
Some like a particular nutrient schedule and you can run into trouble feeding them all exactly the same.

Morning Folks. 78F. 51% RH this morning. First off i want to agree that i have deficiencies from likely lockout. That said there is no way the lights are a non factor in this. I can see way to much discoloring on the tops of the plants, the plants in the center (directly under the lights), and the some plants on the outside you can see discoloration on half of the plant, toward the center and the lights. I am not trying to argue with you guys, only trying to clarify.

Under the tops of the really red and off color plants i can almost always find solid green growth. In growth that has been Shaded by upper leaves that are now discolored. Im going to post some lower growth, and some growth where i circle the lines that shade makes in the lower shaded growth.

I am not saying the lights are the only factor, i surely have others. I plan to drop EC down to 1.5 today before i water, to start with this lockout problem. dropped CO2 down to 800 ppm, as one person suggested dropping it. First, A couple Halfy's first where the light was more to one side.

Then a couple more healthy plants, that have lived on the outer row. and a few lower buds that you can see are green despite the tops being discolored, you can also see the patterns left from upper leaves shading parts of the plant. Lower parts of the plants looking better is widespread.

Again thanks folks.
