Light postioning

Depends on the wattage of the bulb and desired watts per sq. ft.

I hang my 1ks about 5 ft apart and my 600s 3-4 ft apart.

^^^ Excellent!

Also, Tiffay2180, remember your light gets reduced greatly the further the plants are away from the lights. So, put your hand above the top of the plant. Is your hand warm? If yes, move lights up 3 inches and repeat test until it feels like a spring day.

Exactly!! Sometimes you can stretch them a little further when you have 2 in a row because footcandles are stackable. So plants in the middle are getting reduced footcandles but they are getting it from 2 lights so it adds up. Only if you need to though.

Naturally as the plants would be more in range of both lights and get more of them both...but at the same time you'll reduce square footage of grow area which will also cut down yields.

Not what I meant. Say a 1k covers a 5 x 5 area and you have 2 bulbs. put the bulbs or the center of the reflector 5 feet apart. don't put the reflectors 5 feet apart.

It's simple. If a light covers a 5x5 area from the center that means each side will light up 2.5ft away, so if you place them 5' on center they're not overlapping their light footprint.

They'll be overlapping for plants near the edges cause footcandles are stackable. That's why I said you could probably get away with having them a little further apart when running 2 lights in a row. If the footprint of a 1000w light is 5x5 that is the optimal lighting footprint. Plants outside of that are still getting diminished light. Get diminished light from 2 sources and you are getting optimal light. Make sense?

hahah I understood it the second time I was just slow with the uptake.....kind of like lock out with a plant hahahah thank you so much you guys!!

Depends on the strain but most can go as high as 88f and still come out fine I grow outside in an area that gets up to 100+ in my flowering season weed wants to grow so it will fight in any environment 90f+ does start to damage thc / resin production.

theres lots of ways to set up ur lights, u can mount them on the walls, on the ceiling, hang them like a vertical grow. its about getting light to ur plants, the key is efficiency. firsttimeARE is spot on for lighting footprint, u dont want some parts bright and some parts dim.

86? I thought anything over 80 was too much

You don't want to go over 80 degrees. 75 is the sweetspot. If you have Co2 then you go to 82-86. Anything above these temps for or without Co2 and you are actually hurting the plants growth and can cause other problems. Since you are spending all this money on equipment and strains it's best to try and dial things into near perfect if you can. If you didn't have a choice then yes, you could grow in 90 degrees but it sounds like you have a choice.
