Light Yo Yo's how do they work?

You talkin' 'bout those hangers w/the wing nuts that come w/htg gear . . .
I think they're designed to hang from hooks in ceiling, but can be used on actual fixture instead, and then tied/chained to ceiling hook. Much easier/safer to reach for adjusting. Loosen=lower
S'posed to work kinda like a retractable vacuum cleaner cord? "Londoner" posted some pics, if you need to look that post up?

Blazzzzzed yes but not retarded. I don't have them hooked up yet, I was just playing with them. Here they are below, I guess I will have to put some weight on them first.

That's them . . . like I said, it's easier to fuck w/'em if they're not up by the ceiling. Tie the strings to the ceiling hooks after sliding the fixture brackets thru your light lifter thingies. ie: attach to fixture first?

OK so now I feel like an idiot. After hanging my light with them it became very obvious how they work. These are sweeeeet!

Thanks to all of you who responded!:peace:

Have you tried hanging them with the light on them? They don't work without weight and are a bit like a seatbelt.... If you have the light on them, loosen the wingnuts until you get desired height then tighten them et voila! Also make sure they are the correct way round (cord downwards).

If you have a lightweight reflector, you may need to add a bit of weight to it to get them to work. I taped a small piece of tile to my reflector so they would work correctly.

yeah the light is like a feather . I also just realized that the cord is too short . Well I guess it doesnt matter much now . Cord down is also helpful . The beam I was hanging it from is 8 feet high so the light needs to be 4ft 6 in below . The chain I got is longer and actually gives me what I need . Theres a lot I can learn here without getting stuck on this kind of thing . Thanks for the good advice though .
