i was very specific in saying that any group that has been persecuted and denied equal access to opportunity for centuries would need extra help, the race does not matter.

no, the thread in question was about blacks in america, my notion that a group that has been persecuted for centuries can apply to any race.

if america was founded by blacks and whites were brought in to be slaves and denied equal access to opportunity for centuries, it would apply in that case as well.

I didnt mean they needed help because of the colour of their skin lol. I meant that because african americans are one of those ethnic groups which has suffered from discrimination. It's not racist to point them out as being a disadvantaged race.

The Aboriginals I know aren't still going on about what happen a century ago. I'm in no way marginalising what they went through, but there comes a time when you gotta let go of the past and move forward. Take responsibility for your life and make some positive changes.

Help is available to people that need it, especially in Australia, not so much the US.

Its the epitome of inferiority to suggest another racial group or minority need more help to be as successful as another. That kind of generalisation helps no one - and is far more detrimental in the long run.
