yeah you need a much higher wattage, this 13W and 20W shit wont do it.
and as for watering, many methods. just make sure your soil is dry before watering again.

ive read that 24/0 is too much stress, even for a c3 plant like cannabis.

i would use 18/6 or 20/4. i can search the net for you if you want to see the article where a scientist tested the theory on tomato plant and noticed the best growth at 14 hours of sun. it produces the biggest, fullest and tastiest fruits on this schedule. the plants on 24/0 were taller, but the organs and roots suffered.

yes, tomato plants are a c3 fixation plant.

even though you may not see the stress, it is very real. during the dark cycle, plants secreate a lot of necessary hormones for growth.

It's a crop that responds very well to a number of environments.. 24/7 is a fine time frame for vegging. I've tried every cycle imaginable and made a few of my own up over the years, 24 WORKS.. that's the beauty of it.. it can't be screwed up.

For example this lil guy was vegged from tiny clone under two 28 watt 6400k CFL's at 24/7 in the corner of a room for well over a month. Two months later it's over 3 ounces of manicured bud was as good as the strain had to offer grown under any circumstance.

Had I of used more light, or a 18 hour light schedule, it would of been much taller (considerably more stretch and more space between the internodes) .. Not preferable for what I did at all.

CO2 will speed up the rate of photosythesis. plants breathe in CO2 just like ppl breathe O2. think of the plants leaves like our lungs. if there is too much humidity and not enough CO2 the plants will stop breathing, just like ppl underwater. but make it too dry with too much CO2 (as in little or no O2 left in the air) the plants breathe too fast and can get hurt, like ppl running a marathon. CO2 will simply increase rate of photosynthesis, but only slightly. for example, 2 weeks of growth can be accomplished in 10 days when CO2 supplemented. I dont use CO2 at all because my financial situation wont allow it, but if you have an enclosed grow space, it works well for a lot of ppl to good results. Some of my friends with closet grows have said a product by the name of EXhale Bag works well for their space. experiment and see what you like.
cheers

Thanks for the feedback. I just added 2 23w cfls n addition to the 2 13w cfls..Is tht too much lighting now?? Toasted, bro u read right seed-7wks.. I was scouring Google nd Bing looking for grow tips nd tried mixing n my own tweaks. All help is considered by a newbie
You are not even in the same area code as "too much light."
72 cfl watts is not enough to veg, much less flower if you ask me.

Dont trip out dude your doin fine. veg can be 18/6 OR 24/0, but i wouldnt recommend both. Keeping in mind that your plant will stretch 1.25-3x its size during flower, when your plant has vegged big enough, flip it to 12/12.
You should do 18/6 this plant is unhealthy and is not using the energy form the light properly because of the unhealthy condition that it is in. Blasting this unhealthy plant with 6 more hours is not going to be beneficial at all! It's only wasting energy making ur grow cost more then it should. Give her sme time to rest and heal. Roots grow faster when the lights are off. I get more growth with an 18/6 schedule.

As do i Fazer1rlg. I swear by 18/6. they just dont seem as productive on other lighting schedules. just trying to give a noob some options of what has worked well for friends and family so he can choose whats best for him.

Nail on the head with root growth observations IMO

Wats the average number of Watts over one plant
I have a tent with two plants and a 600 watt hps. 300 per plant
I have another small grow area that has one plant and a 250 watt hps and 7 23 watt cfls. 250 HID + 161 cfl watts.

You are probably watering too much also.

wow man i mentioned earlier when this thread first started,
and i will mention again.
stop fucking with your plant. just leave her be.
the more you bother her the longer she'll stay in shock, stunting her growth and preventing her from doing anything.

200-300W will take care of 8-10 plants, thats what you need.
stop switching the on/off time too, just leave it at 18/6 for the next few days and dont bother her.

bro, if you want to get a light sufficient enough for EVRYTHING. just buy the package that i bought.
it's a 400W MH/HPS kit giving you everything you need to start.
comes with lights, reflector, ballast, hinges, timer . i use it.

http://www.amazon.com/Apollo-Horticulture-Dimmable-Reflector-Accessories/dp/B004YXDHX6/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1361822129&sr=1-1&keywords=400w+ballast+mh

for only 125$, i seen a dude spend 500$+ on the exact same products today. it was stupid. he still had to buy the lights too.

this is a china product, its very efficient and cheap.

the light the dude showed you above is flourescent, it wont emit appropriate rays plants depend on.
100$ for two of those doesn't compare to the 400w apollo ballast i sent you.

this thread is hard to read. your plant is suffering from being in a pot too big for it. it is not using all the soil and the soil is not being allowed to dry out enough to allow the plant to take hold. as for light yea you could use more but its not your problem, don't beleave me, click the link in my signiture that plant is 8 weeks old with 1 26w cfl. as for watering: don't. contrary to what people are saying, unless you are using marical grow you want to water heavy but infrequently. let that plant dry out for 10 days or so feel the wait of the pot if it is heavy don't water when it starts feeling light and has pulled away from the sides of the pot flood it lots of run off is ok. over watering is from frequency of watering not volume per watering. giv it 4 oz. every watering and the roots will not be happy when they hit that dry patch you created from not using enough water. thats all I got in me for now....
