But I did, I bought the hlg 350r a few days ago. Then I wanted to get stuff to supplement that with far red and uv. This cheap light will stop my urges to keep upgrading for now.

I'd pick up a Bestva 1000 for $69 now on Amazon. I paid $99 for mine a few weeks ago and really like it. Good spectrum and dimmable. I bought WIlls 150 watt light and just got it. $47 delivered and it's almost as good as my Bestva.
The Bestva has a much better spectrum and better heatsink, Meanwell driver too.

Agreed. Contrary to what some posts will say, you don't have to have an optic 8 or some other light that costs hundreds just to grow a few plants. Some people need or can afford a much more powerful light, but a lot of us get by fine on cheap Amazon stuff

The newest bloomspect lights on Amazon have meanwell drivers and lm301b diodes. I guess that's why mine was so cheap. Being discontinued.... I think it's the sl2000. I love my sl1000 and the bf600 I bought first fell 8 ft onto concrete and never missed a beat. I wish I'd bought 2 of the 1000s $39.99 free shipping.

There is a guy on YouTube that reviews Amazon led lights. My sl1000 actually tested slightly better ppfd than the spider farmer sf1000 that was 100 bucks more. Do your research. Don't trust the manufacturer data. More cash doesn't always mean brighter

All I know is what I have used myself. It works fine for the need I have. Others needs may differ. All I'm saying is do your homework before you buy.

If I had the cash I would've gotten an optic but I didn't so...and I'm still learning too. It's a wasted day and grow if you cease to learn. Good luck to all the growmies .

Never had an 8ft T5. Just 4ft with either 1 bulb (starter4x), 4 bulb(1x) or 8 bulb(3x). All of which are collecting dust in my basement. I could not imagine trying to handle a 8ft long fixture haha

I bought a Wills 150 watt (at the wall) light for $47 delivered and after using it for about a week, I have to admit it seems to be working well. It does need some 730 nm leds but it is frosting up my White Widows pretty well. I did have some trouble the first day with it running 100% at low height, but after backing it off for a couple of days, I can crank it up to 75%. My WW will need it to raise soon as she's getting really bushy and I need a broader light footprint.
I much prefer my Bestva 100 watt (at the wall, $99, but they went down to ~$69 recently) light though as it does have 730 nm LEDs and the Lumens are about as good due to better diodes.
I run one light per plant, due to height differences and only have three girls running. One under a ~80W burple which is doing well too, but only at ~5".
