Dear god, those Super Bowl commercials were amazing. My family was totally laughing at my ass when they were playing though. TDI's are seriously the tits of the dragon. The VW Jetta TDI gets like 50 mpg on the highway and if you use it with biodiesel, a domestic and renewable fuel, you're set. If you're hardcore you could even have a hybrid biodiesel and veggie oil set up, but you might void the warranty. I, being afraid of any conversions or voided warranties in my diesel, use biodiesel in my pickup because a sedan doesn't really cut it for me. I also run my portable generator on BD. But hey, with BD @ <$2/gal. I can't really complain. ;-)

instead of tracking the sun couldn't they just make a 1/2 globe shaped lens

Right, let's convert our food supplies into fuel to run our vehicles. Only an out of control government fueled by special interest money could come up with something that stupid.

Fellow Californian,
Better than using twice that amount of resources to feed livestock. I do agree that BD is a less desireable alternative energy, thats why I still opt for public transportation and biking.

Thats 1 problem, the other is it's GMO shit that kills your organs LOL
Im getting to my point in a sec..

6.8 billion people fucking too much and using too many finite resources causes starvation. Keep the change my friend.
Half true, most of those plp don't grow their own food or do much of anything, we look for others to for us.

So we get shitty GMO food
which BTW with the shitty synthetic chems they have to use the crops use over 10 times more water than conventional crops.

Yup I walk alot in town myself, I drive a gas guzzler at 8-10MPG so I try n save.
I also am about to try my hand at supplemental solar power to my home energy to run some of my appliances.
I really consider it a long term investment and also when power goes out or I cant pay my bill or something well I still have basic power.

A DIY of the concept turbines would be pretty awesome IMO. It sure as hell wouldn't set you back as much.
yeah i been thinking about the for about 3 years sence i first herd of them but the thing is that look way to complex for me - some things some people have to buy - im sure i can diy a car but i not going to even try
- pluss i for got to add that this tecnalogy is at the forfront so ima save my bread and in the mean time the shit is getting beter and cheaper- i still need a house to put it on top of and noone else around here is doing it so maybe compittion will drive down the price - hes offering 80% off right now on everything

and what make wind turbines so great is that wind blow 24/7
much better then solar power

Wind power would be better in Chi town because it's distance to the poles, solar panels in So Cal on the other hand...

It's all about decentralization with green energy and using a combo. of technologies like geothermal, solar, wind, hydro., etc.
