I'm looking for a seed to start my first grow with, ive done plenty of research so i know what to do for the most part, im looking for a seed on the more affordable side that will grow semi-quickly outdoors in maine weather (equivalent to southern Canada weather) I might prefer autoflower, if i could get some suggestions on the type it would help, i think im looking for ruderalis, because of its toughness and ability to handle rough conditions, thanks in advance :weed: :leaf: :-P

Ps: ruderalis is an auto. Me personally will not waste my space or time again on another auto. Way better quality and larger yield from anything but.

Due to the extremely short outdoor period of your region, i would simply advise to keep it as short as possible, so indica's get my vote. not a brain on the subject cause i grow indoor, and right now all sativas, But indicas within 3-3.5 months, you would have crop from seed. If i were you, Dont know if maine is legal or not, but get as many different seeds as possible, even a few sativas, and try them all when your "season" starts. Not sure, Im way south of the mason dixon , so i would not know even where to begin to tell u to plant up there.

If legalized to some degree just order whatever online, If completely illegal, track down some local growers (if you can) or just go bag seed from whatever, plant the shit there growing and hope for the best. If your state is completely illegal even on state level, If you order online seeds you may be compromised and loose your money :/ ... shit sucks, the states suck, america sucks... I wanna move to Amsterdam and smuggle in that good good on a plane.. ;) hahaha

Maine has de-criminalized marijuana use for personal consumption, and it is on the referendum for legalization of recreational use for those over 21. The possesion limit is 2.5 oz per persons or 3 plants for the bill waiting to be voted on, it will reach the publics vote in November of next year, 2014. This will most likely pass, it has already received green light from all sides of the isle, making it to the referendum was the hard part, the easy part is the public voting. For a persons 21 years of age or older, they can posses currently with no jail minimum sentence as follows,
Less than 2.5 oz - civil violation - $ 600 - no jail time. Cultivation for non medical citizens is not legal until it is legalized for recreational use, but the possession is no longer a mandatory jail sentence or misdemeanor, but a "infraction" that is restricted to fines only. I've ordered about $200 in seeds from attitude, shipped to north and south maine, there isn't any risk; but its good idea to put "guaranteed delivery" or whatever through the seedbanks buying options ect, this way they will reship no matter if it gets taken or not. The seed packages I've seen opened by customs on the forums has been confiscated but the original buyer does not face a penalty, the checks on the packages seem to be random and not targeted specifically at attitude, some people say using certain method didn't, preferred envelope over plastic purple bag (tshirt purchases ect). All my seeds made it here without any problems though, passed customs normally. Your going to be tight on time to even veg her n get her out there in time, being a first grow. You have specific soil or did you just scoop stuff outside? I would check into a cheap pH meter to control your vegging water source for the beginning period.

You are going to have really, really long grow periods if growing outside in Maine. Places further south of you plant in april sometimes and still don't finish til october. You gotta plant them that early, or what you get is not mature and won't yield. Got a greenhouse going? That would help.

The more sativa in your genetics, the longer it's going to take, so more sativa = more risk of never even finishing.

You should try Afghan Kush Ryder autoflower from World Of Seeds. It's cheap, it's good, it's known to be a top quality mid-to-big autoflower.
