Congressional Democrats are willing to concede marijuana laws to the state. Of course with this comes regulation. You cannot get around the fact that marijuana is a drug and as such if it is legal for sale then there are liability issues
Like THC content, cancer warnings, production oversight, taxes.
I would think it still stands that the best situation would be
legal to grow and possess

I say legalize and treat like alcohol. Yes, they tax the shit out of the sale. So what? They do the same on beer and smokes. But I brew my own beer and can buy bulk tobacco and roll it to avoid that. anything that keeps us out of jail, at risk of losing home and family, is okay with me!
not every MMJ users smokes.. I prefer edibles majority of the time..

TBH this is what I envision the FED to do concerning State legalization...allow it but begin using the interstate transportation of it to illegal status state to institue STATE border checks and monitoring of movement to facilitate the Big Brother grip...IOW the borders of each state will be patrolled and checked like the Mexican and Canadian borders are...which will keep the LEOs and Prison Industries flooded even moreso

No way they would try to tax growing on your own. Like with homebrewing or distilling, you'd have a limit on qty and would need some sort of license to sell. That could be the tricky part because today, liquor licenses in some states are very precious commodities. But bottom line for is that No matter how they try to regulate, if you can't get thrown in jail just because you prefer a toke to a scotch and water, it will be the realization of something I have fought for for a long time. And as the patent of two minority children who will teens before I know it, thstvwould a huge sigh of relief. I had many close calls with the law in my formidable years and know with personal certainty that if I had my kids' skin color, I would have been arrested.
