When I took cuttings for first time, only one survive and took two weeks to root.
Practice will make it perfect.
Your clone is under a humidity dome? If not, You can put some plastic cup or something like that on it, mist the inside of the dome and make some holes for air. When cloning and germinating, very essential is humidity - it must be high.
When I started to mist my clones frequently, there was a big progress and I didn`t loose a sinlge clone.

yea i have a 'dome' over it.

its that thing that looks like a 20 oz soda bottle next to the skunk

cloning seems not so user friendly compared to seeds but rewarding.

im going to purchase the appropriate supplies for a bubble cloner over break to ensure a high success rate and so i can see when the roots have actually started to sprout

looking good man! nice pyjama bottoms there, look very old school :P... i was wondering how thick your lowryder stems are?i think due to the lack of intense light my seedlings have stretched a fair bit :S and are a lil spindley

thanks for the compliments man but errrr i messed up a little....

those cool pajama bottoms you mentioned (which i was hoping nobody would see :) ), while they are oldschool they hur my skunk plant.

when i waS walking out of the closet my pants got caught on to of my largest fan leaves and ripped them off.

im hoping the consequnces of this are not terrible.

i cute them off down to where they met the stem and left the offchutes growing, although i was debating cutting them too.

I am getting antsy as far as knowing the sex of this skunk

if i wasted all this time talking to her and reading her bedtime stories, tucking her in at night, and it turns out to be a male

psh, thats not right.

Also to answer the only question you asked after my rambling..... my stems are about as thick as the wooden skewars in the skunky pot.

not sure about you, but with my 150whps i have it about....6" or less from the plants and they seem to be loving it.

rich and dark green. the skunk too.
im hoping my veg efforts translate later in this grow.

here a pic of the plant i took the leaves off. On the right side of the screen you can see the top where i have it bent over to.... you can also see that the tallest two nodes are missing thier big fan leaves, which let me get some use out of my biology book from a few years back. bookstore wouldnt take it back so its now a leave flattener

this is an attempt of a close up of the lowryder stem for you.... it is getting thicker but majority of growth improvements are up top right now, leaves geeting broader and greener and working on their thrid set of fan leaves

if u notice all of my pics are 'backwards' i am taking them with a mac photobooth app thats just how they come

Can you start lowryder's inside under 24 hrs of light and then move them outdoors after a few weeks?

yes very much so, i hear they are fantastic plants for outdoors because u dont need to trigger the light cycle for them to flower (autoflowering) but im sure you knew this

if your putting them outside, i would leave them in pots or bury the pots u put them in deep in the soil.

that way you know what your soil ph is and the like... will make problem slving easier for you later

day 13-14 update

transplanted into 3 gallong grow bags (which are probably too big for the needed lowryder2 root structure, better safe than sorry)

added Fox Farm's big bloom to the regiment of nutes and gave the heavy feeding of 1/2 cup per gallon on first feeding along with 3 ts of the FF grow big.

The next 6 or 7 days we will be feeding ph balanced water only and letting the plants recover from transplant and show thier sex later this week.

now for some pics.

this will be the last post for about a week or so when i get back from snowboarding 2 A-basin in Colorado. ill take some nice pics there too.

Happy growing in my absence everyone~!

pot nanny, ha thats a good one, more like.... partner and investor in my growings :) we have a 26 site aeroponic system and an 8 tray ebb and flow setup we will be setting up at his house.

These babies are just for exerimentation to see if we can get decent yields out if the lowryders and use this strain as opposssed to some others.

i will post pics of the other setup in a new thread in the future :)

i will be returning home tommorrow and wil likely post new pics the following day:fire:

took down the 150w HPS

and threw up a 400w MH

i now the MH is not as idea but the extra watts should more than make the difference. i could grab a conversion bulb, or i could just add the extra 150w hps for a little better color spectrum.

i have ordered a double sided cooltube to compliment the cabinet.

after pollinating the more vigorous growing of the two lowryders with the male i recieved, i will be doing a 12-20 plant grow in a similar space using the same equip and nutes.

keep your fingers crossed for me everyone its about time to watch these babies start producing.

the male is going in my fridnds backyard to grow in natural light and priduce me some polllllllen.

in the process of building my bubblecloner for the mommy skunk plant.

and concerns comments questions?

im thinking everything is looking ok for the time being, no signs on nute burn and the plants are a beautiful dark green. hairs are popping out of the nodes on the females :)

any thoughts on trimming the lower leaves on the plants to promote top flowering more vigorously?

showing some beggining signs of over fert

a burt tip or two and a few leaves curling down

i believe i can attribute the leaves turning down to the excess buildup up water in my drainage basin today

ill have to put something below it for the overflow to run to and be easily discarded without rearranging the plants.

i have realized that one must think all aspects of their grow out before constructing it or you run into a never ending project of modifying
