LST question

Ok so a few days ago I started or attempted to lst one of my white widow plants. I used white string yarn stuff that I used to use to make doilies (sp). Im thinking the string was not good. I cut the string off, the plant is still bent where I bent it, but the string was like attached to the plant, and it kind of topped my plant, which is fine with me. So, my question is, what would be better to use? I read several places for a coat hanger cut up and put in the soil, but my imagination is showing me that the coat hanger will not hold in the soil. And I am also thinking if the string was strangeling the plant, wont fishing line do that too?

Also, if I was to lst the new growth, should I tie down the regular fan leaf stems, or ones that have new growth coming off of the new growth?
Thanks brothas and sistas!

strong thick string tends not to cut the plant. im using the weedwacker string with coat hangers in a U shape. i kinda dont know the answer to your last question. i guess you need to pick a branch below where it was accidentally topped and tie down one of those branches.

Best of luck.

Thanks Mane, Well from what I have read a few places on this site, tie down, then tie down new growth. I am guessing if I tie down the new fan leaves that will put more light to better places. The plant is still bent, im just thinking what new growth I keep tieing down, anyone know fo sho?

It's really based on how it grows, be creative, there's no harm. Anything that looks like it will open up a new growing area. There isn't one way to do it, but there is a method.

If you topped your plant then you prob tied the knot right on the stem to tight. Try to loop your knots so it allows for growth.
like this

The string is fine, I also use fishing line, IMO think coat hangers would be a bitch.
Just drill holes in your pots on the rim so you have something to tie to.

As for new growth, just keep everything even as possible. Whenever new growth gets gigger than the rest, tie that shit down.

Thanks OrezO, ima give that a shot! I put holes all around so there is a hole already made anywhere I need to tie, so that part is aight!
