How can I help the stalk close the wound? Sorry to clog up the main message board but I'm desperate for help. Thanks for any help!

it’ll close on its own. next time you can be gentler and slowly crush the inside of the stem between your fingers till it bends easily.

if you think you must do something i just put some fresh aloe gel when its bad to prevent much moisture loss but its not necessary with this.

and in extreme cases i wrap it with beeswax but its for very extreme situations, again not needed in this case imo.

If you smash the stem (supercrop) before you apply the clips they bend without breaking..
Start training a little earlier when they're more pliable.. Some masking tape will save it..

Here is a bird's eye view of the bending that went on a little earlier

Top tip time...

If you intend to LST them like that, then offset them in the pot. Plant it right against one side. I have never used those LST clip things, start the off progressively and bend them down over the course of a few days starting further up the stem. I use this type of thing...

They are called ground hooks, you can get them off Amazon really cheaply.

That's not the best way to got about this. But I'm gonna follow along. They look hungry too. I can see K deficiency starting.
Thanks! I did a test of the soil before I transplanted a few weeks ago from solo cups and it said it had a surplus of K. Those tests could be bunk so who knows. The next time I water I'll topdress with some Dr. Earth's Veg and EWC then water in some recharge for good measure.

With the ground hooks, do you start using them when the plant is a little shorter or you just start bending the plants and loosening up the stems when they are shorter?
