Making My Own Soil Mix

Hello my fellow RIU's my first grow is coming to an end and I have gained lots of valuable knowledge from it but for my next grow I want to increase my yield I know I can yield a hell of a lot more than https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/345144-my-first-grow-20.html#post4626363

I've been researching into making my own soil mix and have decided to go with the following:

potting mix :
Canna Professional Plus Organic Soil
Canna Coco Organic Growing Medium
Bio-Bizz Worm Castings
Vintage Bat Guano
Perlite
vermiculite (as suggested)

Ratio:
soil 35%
coco 35%
Perlite 20%
Worm Castings 10%
some vermiculite (as suggested)
handful of guano

What do you think?

any suggestions would be much appreciated with rep :bigjoint:

Sounds like you have yourself your own mix right there.Try adding some more perlite and throw in some vermiculite. That should make it better for drainage.

Hello, i am on my 3th or 4th soil mix of my own. it is very hard to get the soil HOT and balanced. if you can try to mix your own soil grow one plant in the soil. you must keep track of the PH of the soil. plants health from start to finish. then you can add stuff like green sand, bone meal, blood meal stuff like that. make your soil perfect then grow all your garden in it. lol maybe i should have asked are you wanting organic?

hmm I didnt really think whether I wanted to do Organic or not.

I've looked at using Ionic Bloom and Ionic Boost for flowering
what would you use as an organic alterative?

also should I also use clay pebbles to line the bottom of the pot?

idk every thing is in my soil. im in my first year and dont know a lot about furts, i dont use them. organic or not you should watch your soil ph very close, every week. think on this every time you add ph up\down in your furts you put it in the soil and dose not wash away the ph in soil gets up/down every time. it builds up.
