How come the newb growers hardly ever use COCO Medium? I started out in soil, then changed to Hydro, DWC, you name it..... Then I came across CoCo. I have been growing for about 7 years, and 4 of that in Coco. This stuff is so simple to grow in I am training George from my avitar to take care of my crops for me from now on. I now have my system set up where I can leave it for up to 14 days with out looking at it if I need to. AKA vacation or what ever.

Straight COCO. Use COCO specific nutrients or hydro nutrients. PH it like Hydro. 5.3-5.9. I shoot for 5.8. You water with about 20-30% run off. and check the PH of the run off to make sure it is not outside of the wanted PH range. it is about impossible to over water in coco. I use 2 gallon grow bags. COCO can be reused up 3-5 times. Even if you get nasty nat eggs in the coco, you can flush it with a double dose of hygrozym type product for 3-5 days, then give it a good flush with boiling hot water. this will kill the eggs. Of course this is after you harvest and not while the plants are growing. :) It will also kill any benifitial micro organisms, but heck, coco does not have any in it when you buy it new anyway.
I never use the compressed brick type coco. that crap is to much of a pain in the butt to break up.

Because they have nmo brains and can not tell the different. It looks like soil, feels like soil. but when you water your plants it sucks in fresh air each time. This is why you could water you plants 4 times a day and get away with it. I water my plants about every 2-3 days though. because of the cost factor. But I know people that have their feed timers set on every 8 hours. I use a drip to waste system, but know of people who use drip to return. They use a filter sock on the pumps.
You can not set a soil system to automatically water and leave it for long periods. One watering might last 4 days, while the next 2, while the next is 5 days. With coco. You can set up a drip to return with a res and walk away for long periods of time. I went to mexico for about 120 days a year ago and came back to nice healthy plants. But you need a good vwent system on your light. I had a big cola lay right up against my glass.

We are not psychic here. You need to give us detailed info on your grow as well as the pics(i must commend the amount of and how well the pics you put up showed the plant, alot of people only post a few bad ones that dont really help.) Rough guess=calcium defeciency and maybe a few other trace nute lockouts. (by the way, i was just joking when i said we are not psychic here, i wasnt being a jerk or anything. lol)
I'm psychic:lol:first thing I thought of was FFOF:lol:and when I got to the pic with the pots of dirt I knew it:lol:
