That's the problem with Vero 29's. Running 4 off one driver leaves you little in terms of choices. If you ran 3, 5 or 6 everything would be much easier. Running 4 cobs is a perfect match for Cree. If you ran them at 50w each the HLG-185-1400 would be perfect. You'd probably have to order everything from Kingbrite though but the prices for Canadians at Cutter are pretty reasonable too. You could also run the Vero's at 50w each with an HLG-240-1400 so there's that option too.
I want drive each cob at 75W-80W at 1400mA. How can I do this then? With what driver thats currently available on mouser? If this is just going to be a lame issue, im going to spend the extra money and buy from Cutter and go with the 3070's. Atleast there is lots of evidence of success. Plus Greengenes and GrowMau5 are both smart guys and I trust their word and their work.

The Vero runs at 80w with 2100ma. The HLG-240-2100 will run 3 at 80w each or 240w if you put 3 on a bar. If you use Cree and run 4 on a bar at 50w each with an HLG-185-1400 you'll get 200w for the bar. The Vero will give you 40w more power with one less cob. Won't be as efficient but many people don't care about the slight difference in efficiency, especially when you consider how inexpensive the Vero cobs are...it would take a long time to make up that money by running slightly more efficient Cree cobs.
Running the Cree at 80watts is the same problem as the Vero, you can't run 4 at a time with the Mean Well drivers unless you stepped up to the HLG-320 but you'd have 320w per bar in that case. They also don't run as efficient at that amperage.

I would of bought the Vero29's but they seem to be a bit of a hassle. Id rather pay more money and get something thats been proven. Plus the 3070's resemble HPS more.
Look around the forums and on youtube. The Vero grows just as top shelf quality as a Cree and I've seen people grow larfy buds using every type of lighting known to man. I don't think it makes much difference at all which way you go, just get whatever suits your budget better.

I wanted to go with Vero29's, but I haven't been able to figure out how to make sense of it. How can I get 300-320W from 4 cobs on Vero's? No one has really explained that yet. Plus, I find the warmer spectrums on the LED cobs resemble more of the HPS lighting. The Vero29's are neutral white. Also, the fact they are so much cheaper in price makes me wonder why and that maybe were missing something.. I've been growing for years and I know HPS works great, but has so many disadvantages. Heat, shelf life, electricity costs etc... they are not the best option in the long run.

That's a tricky question. It will be close, I'd have my money on C1750.
Number of drivers depends on the circuit breaker.
thanks, One thing I want to ad d is that I am going to watercool the cobs, and possibly driver i can find a surface to mount a waterblock on that'll dissipate the heat.

will that make any difference for driver requirements?

thing is I really want to try running these as close to 3A or as much over 2A as possible as heat is going to be practically nonexistant

I got about 80sq ft and with the waterblock that I am using on a few, I can fit 2 cobs, cxb3590 or cxb 3070, but only a few inches apart. should I scrap the idea of putting 2 so close together or would it not bleach the crap out of plants and etc.
basically the waterblocks I am looking at the farthest I can space the cobs and be super cost effective is maybe 6 inches

Str8, the answer is Hlg-320H-36a. will run 4 vero29's at 2.25A each I would assume in parallel.

Thanks! Perfect! thats what I thought. I listed that driver before in one of my posts. I just couldn't confirm. I didn't have this spread sheet to look at. Maybe I should build 8 bars of 3070's and 8 bars of Vero29 V2. See what happens. I can use the same drivers for both cobs? The next question I have is, how many amps would each 320W bar be drawing at the wall?

The drivers are listed 94.5% efficient so not much more from wall unless you have other item on your bars like
fans but really about 6 to 8% more. Probably around 345 watts a bar

Except you'd need a higher amperage model. Pretty sure that driver puts out 36v which is too low for the Vero, especially at 2.25ma. Also, I believe you'd have to wire in parallel unless I'm mistaken.

at approx 38v=85.5 watts per vero x4=342. the ps will adjust the amps to not over power 320watts. So will probably see around
2.15 amps. Go slay it OG

Please consult one of the vero gurus for any adjustments to the ps needed

Thank you. Also, at these specs. What would one of these bars pull at the wall? How many amps after 4 CPU fans as well? I just want to know how many I can run on a 15 and 20amp circuit.

So, ive been working on my design. It appears it might be better for coverage if I run 6 cobs on a 480W driver instead. Would the HLG-600H-12B work?
