I'd like to open a vapour lounge locally. Trouble is I don't see where to make money at it.
People bring their own bud. So snacks and a small entrance fee may be the best revenue. I just don't see how it would pay for itself or even make a little money. The vape lounge I went to was alcohol free which was good.
Maybe if we had cafe's like Amsterdam that could sell some bud to help keep the doors open.
I've been to the new Amsterdam cafe in BC before. It's mandatory to have to buy something to stay. The markup was a little higher then usual on the product, but there is also great turnover. They also had homemade baked goods at like 2.50 per...so you can def pay the bills, and earn something...but probably not a whole lot. If you owned the property, it would be a different story.

I think the key to running a financially successful vape lounge would be tough without having a youngsterdam setup (sacred seed/Toronto hemp company/tcc/vape lounge).

I just can't see how vapor central covers their overheads on a $5/pp door fee and a couple $1 sodas. Being able to try thc's products before you buy though is reason enough for them to keep the doors open in my opinion.

I wonder though... There really aren't many overheads other than the lease and utilities. I can't imagine the staff are getting paid above minimum....

I'm sure if you could get a stable of 40-50 members plus walk-ins you'd cover your costs easily.

The legal risks are huge though. Better have a good lawyer on retainer and have a good chunk of funds aside just to cover the inevitable legal troubles.

if you're not selling, and everyone is a patient....I don't see any risk. What would the charge be?

I would draft up a letter explaining what the lounge is; that is is for qualified patients, no selling, no minors...have it written up on my lawyers stationary. Deliver it to the police and the newspaper, and I wouldn't have a care in the world.
There would be nothing illegal about it.
If they were to cause any grief, I would sue them.
( I've used this proactive approach in the past)

Was talking to one of the people working for the company yesterday... Apparently vapor central is not subsidized by the other youngsterdam brands and operates on its own revenue.

Also of note was that apparently 50% of the costs to run it are lawyers fees... Crazy!

Bare in mind, I'm not sure how close this person is to the business but he was definitely an employee.

Hmmm...Lawyer fee's. i would think that was only a start up issues. After all these years they must have minimal legal costs anymore. They're established now so I'm sure that can't be a big cost. But Thanks anyway Brewery as I'm only speculating of course.
Basically it's a semi party happening constantly just waiting to be dropped in on...That's what I liked about. Didn't see anyone showing med paper's either....a 5 dollar bill is your paperwork there.....gotta LOVE Toronto. I just hope it doesn't gobble Yessica and her cookies up.
