i was just wondering if they check to see if there is a cardholder at the address before they start going through the garbage i'm not too worried about it but i was wondering if anyone has had any experience with LEO snooping around?

there was a "newsmaker" i think it's called on channel 12 last saturday about medical maurijauna and there was some interesting info but the prosecuter from lapeer county was saying that the voters had overwhelmingly spoken and he was going to pursue other drugs and pretty much leave MJ alone-

I've got an appointment set up next week at Laura Family Clinic in Detroit. Has anyone else gotten their card from there? The receptionist on the phone said to bring 200 to the first appt and 50 to the second two appts. I'm just hoping this isn't a few month process cause I'm hoping to get it as soon as possible.

The State issues the card, not the clinic.

From what I've read on here the State is backed up on processing the applications.

Yeah, all you get from the clinic is your paper signed by the doctor...sounds like they're ripping you off to me. I only paid 200 dollars the first appt....and got my paper signed and was set. Then it costs another 100 when you send it in...unless you get paid by the gov. in any way...(ssi or welfare) And yes...they are very backed up...so don't expect to get your card after you send your paper in for at least a few months...3 or 4.

Dang i guess i will have to be patient. They said the 300 i pay over the 3 appointments covers the 100 dollar state fee, and they send all the papers in.

Maybe in 3 to 4 months time they can get some dispensaries set up

How much do you guys typically pay per oz from your caregiver?

I don't have a caregiver...i grow for myself. Much cheaper it seems to just do it myself. haha. But yeah now that you say they send everything in for you, that makes sense.

im in the detroit area, and want to get my mj card.

Can anyone point me towards an easy going doctor?

I have a serious injurty, so a persciption for pain shouldnt be a problem.

thanks
Check the medical marijuana clinic out in Southfield. Here's the link. It's a one time $200 dollar fee to see the doc and get your papers signed. You have to fax them your med records first...and they will tell you before you make the trip if you eligible or not. Hope that helps...I think they have a few locations also, if southfield is to far away.

i got my card from the compassion clinic in southfield.they do road trips to make it easier for patients to see them.its a very easy process and they make you feel pretty comfortible.it cost me 200 and 100 for the state, and it took 90 days to get my card.but if your a patient and you have you paperwork you are legal after 20 days.just make sure you have a certified mail reciept to prove when they got your forms and a bank statement saying when the check was cashed would be good too, just to be safe.

Hmmm...that's a tuffy. I'd assume you'd need to be on the lease(or partial owner) or he'd need to be your caregiver. I'd definitely wait for a better answer, as I really have no clue...haha.

i would agree, you either have to live there or make your friend your caregiver, otherwise your friend will get in trouble for growing.

ya that's about what i figured-
now that i'm legal i don't really have the the room for a full on 12 plant indoor grow
and i want the first one to be a good one :)

There is not anything in the law that would prohibit you from doing this. To protect your friend you would want have to have copies of all of the relevant paper work inside the area and maybe something posted on the outside as well.
You would want to have a copy of the Recommendation from your Doctor, the receipt for payment of your registration fee, proof of mailing (some recommend Registered) and your completed Registration form.
It would be better for the owner if he was listed as your care giver IMO. VV

sure -
after thinking this over more i am just going to do the job myself-
just too many variables and in the end i just want to be CLOSE to the plants
there are alot of untested avenues here

As Vic said there is nothening in the law that states where ya have ta grow it beside inside a locked area. If you rented the space and had the only key to it then you'd be fine. The cops would have to wait for you to arrive to open the room as your landlord of course couldn't open it because you have control of the space.

If there are any patients here seeking a caregiver in Michigan. Hello my name is Jeffrey. I am currently working with one of my friends to get her through the process of becoming a recipient of medical marijuana. I have downloaded copies of all the forms required to fill out and process a Michigan application for medical marijuana. If you want any of these forms they are easy to find on the MMMA website and other sites. If you are a potential patient that would like more information on the Michigan laws please feel free to contact me I would love to help walk you through them. I have read them from draft one until now. I feel that it is a right for people to receive the medicine necessary for a quality and healthy lifestyle.

Also one more thing there is a Compassion Club meeting coming up in Birmingham Michigan. Tuesday night at 6 pm at the Baldwin library in Birmingham. These are free meetings where information is distributed on how to become a patient, a caregiver, and also information about marijuana and laws in the state.

Hope to see those who can make it, and as always good growing!bongsmilie
