Anybody have some suggestions for strains to grow outdoors in MN? I'm growing some bag seed now but it would be nice to pick a strain with a shorter flowering period.

I think most of us are first timers here, but grassburner might know. Autos seem like they might be the best choice tho.

Long time no see RIU, glad to hear everyones bud is budding. My pops dropped internet and im gettin ready for school down in the cities so its been tough to keep updated but im planning on chopping an auto or two as soon as Im back home in a couple days.
They are all doing great and besides the jocks they are closing in on harvest.
I burned the shit out of my jocks but they recovered fully and should be ready at day 80-90
I have some great pictures to share for when I get on an actual computer(using a phone)
Hey ripped I have a bunch of shroom pics that ill get up on here asap, any of yours edible or psychidelic?
And to answer a question autoflowers are def. The way to go for around here given all of this areas factors. I recommend aiming for multiple harvests with autoflowers. But that's only if your goal is dank bud quick.
Ima post most recent pics on here and ill keep more detais on my journal.
Don't forget your mollasses!
Peace

As far as strains to pick i try to stick with strains that flower fast either that or your gonna risk freezing them out before there completely done i try to stick with heavy indicas with no longer flowering time than 7 weeks it limits your range as far as strains go but I have lost very few plants to frost this way! 6 week flowering plants seem to be prime for our conditions! good luck :bigjoint:

Anybody remember when our weather starts to turn bad? I have 3 plants for my first grow and they are id say 2weeks-ish into flowering. I just hope i don't have to harvest early. They are all bagseed and i just hope they finish before it becomes to cold for growing. Good luck

Hi im from mn also I curently have some white rhino, big bud, and purple rhino going out doors the rhino plants are all about 7ft tall the big bud is going on 11ft starting to get some huge buds on it guess thats why they call it big bud..lol for thoughs of you asked what time flowering starts it usually starts here in mn around aug. 21st that is if you dont have them buy any yard light or by roads i did have some by yard lights that took alittle longer then the ones out in the woods but they did finish. as for frost they can take a few frosts so you can usally keep them out till 1st or 2nd week in oct. maybe even 3rd week if not to cold. all my strains are a 8 to 9 week finish so you dont have to look for the 6 to 7 week ones only

Do any of you guys use anything to cover them when its supposed to freeze? I'm thinking about doing this using some sort of camo netting. I know some of mine aren't gonna be ready in time.
