Modifying my Humidifier...

My humidifier even on high only keeps the grow closet at about 40-50%

I have the Vornado EVAP40. If I bought additional evap filters, and stuffed them in the middle here, do you think this will increase the humidity this puts out, without having to buy another humidifier?

dehumidifiers freeze up if you move too much air across the coils. then its putting out heat without doing anything. And 40% is low, what you want is air movement not super low humidity. The vapor chart will show that humidity is good for the plant. Wanna see some ugly plants- look at what canadians do putting all the dehumidifiers in the grow to prevent the widows frosting. - the plants look all burnt like homeless people in Las Vegas.

I see what you're saying now. I'll soak the wick, and keep it on medium to prevent it from freezing.

Now, my current question still stands. More wicks, more humidity? I want to get to 60%, because that's optimal for veg. I'm currently at 35%.

alot of people say 30 percent to prevent mold. others say 70% creates huge yields. I say move lots of air and exhaust constantly, I dont use dehumidifiers.

Appreciate the feedback.

In case of mineral build up, would running my tap water through a Brita filter improve the water to prevent salt and mineral build up you think?

was a strange convo. but some good info in there none the less.

Made me look up a Vapor chart. Cool chit!

Is there an orfice in the water solenoid? Maybe it is plugged. Another thing, is it getting to the set point of the humidistat, if so does the unit come with a remote sensor?
