I'm not sure it's right to hate people just for being a mod, appointed or not. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean that you don't have supporters that are mods, not that I wouldn't be sacked for talking about it in the forums, but after a while I guess you just gotta deal with their decision. I'm not saying anything about right or wrong, I only deal with things in my section, but being judgemental in general might cost you the people who are standing up for you that you don't even know about.

I've done nothing for him to hate me over. We volunteer LOTS of our time every day to make sure things are going reasonably well here - and people hate us for it. As far as I know none of the new mods have banned the first person. I know I fucked up by moving the Euro thread but that's taken care of, I apologized to everybody but the pope and even got several nice PM's from the guys that were the most pissed off. On the positive side, now that I'm a mod I can't tell someone to kiss my ass, LOL. Trust me, that's hard for me.

LOL As a former 'mod', I can tell you we had almost no power in truth. =) We weren't global mods with all the power, we were local mods with edit/delete abilities.

Yeah, I only took the gig because I thought we would have Jedi / Ninja powers, and it would add a couple of inches to the sausage. The biggest thing is that now we can edit our own posts after two days and it's made my hair shinier and more manageable. Woooooooowee!
