BudgetGrows

Ive ran into a bit of an issue ive never really tackled before. I have NO ROOM!! . I currently have an extra 12 plant stock with no room to throw them into flower, maybe 2 months away. They have already vegged awhile and there about 18" tall. Bad thing is they be neglected and have been under no training. So my question i guess is... How do I keep them in veg for a couple months and still keep them small and not rootbound. I mainly grow SOG and ScROG and dont have much heigth in my grow area. Can I keep topping at the heigth i want to keep them? Since veg would be a long while, do I do a rootball trim at transplant when I finally flower? Any tips, tricks, and suggestions on keeping these alive and small (lol) would be greatly appreciated!

To keep them in veg just don't switch to 12/12 if it's an auto then no hope. No need to trim the roots when transplanting them just break them up a little with your hand and stuff them in a bigger pot. Also just top them and do some lst. And if you don't have room why get or pop 12 more?

Well I had went through a move and long story short some family will be staying awhile. The room i was dedicating to grow has now been occupied. My other thoughts was keep them till I can put them in ground outside. Im in NorCal so still be awhile to be able to do that too. I keep them on about 20-4 light but might switch back to 18-6 to save energy and yes there not autos.

Off topic, never have grown an auto. Why have one when flowering can be triggered by light at any time wanted? Seems like autos would be a downside

If your going to pop them outside when the temps warm up then keep topping them and getting as many new nodes growing as possible, you'll be well rewarded with extremely bushy plants with a ton of colas

Yeah, i think ill top until i can throw them out. I have a spot i can keep them under light control to flower but its not ideal conditions. Good light but wouldnt have the fans and exhaust id usually have. Just wouldnt be worth it. Until then, I have them Throughout the house like normal house plants lol. Rotating for light and give them light feedings

As already mentioned, clone them and toss the mothers. I keep an average of 15-20 strains going by cloning the clones in aero cloners. You can keep them in a party cup for weeks, super crop them to generate some branches, then re-clone again.

Yeah, my other thoughts were to take cuts and start over. I guess its the hoarder in me that has a problem throwing them. They are all healthy and have had no problems at all yet. Today i noticed slight yellowing. Would be time to start feeding. Looks like they depleted the soil by now

I think the same.

But now i figure autos would be good for outdoor growing in high latitude regions where the sun doesnt go down till 10pm, like where i am. By the time the sun goes to 12/12 around here the ground is frozen.

So... there ya go...
