Moving to Cali but I have some questions

A buddy and I are moving to Cali soon and we just had a few questions as far as growing in apartment vs. house. Where in NorCal would be best to live. How to sell to dispensaries and how much they purchase from a grower. Transporting, etc. any help would be greatly appreciated

There are a couple threads on this now. As far as you selling to dispensaries you might want to re-think that idea. Unless you have awesome genetics and grow them to tip top shape you will likely fail. The market here is REALLY saturated and dispensaries are on the decline. Pricing depends on the area, genetics, owners greed, so many factors it's not even funny. If you are coming to Cali to try and make a living on selling to dispensaries you better have a great backup plan.

For sure. California's gold rush, I mean "Pot rush" is over dude. Should have made it out in 05-06' because there are tons of "me and my buddy's" out there all ready and most of them already headed back home. Might as well stay were you are if you making money.

PS, most rental properties ,apt or house, in California have a "No grow" clause in their leases anyway, so no go there as well.
Not trying to sound harsh but that is a pipe dream, literally.

it is simple

make the best stuff u can ............figure out what it cost u to do it and times it by 3 and sell as that for each OZ
70 bucks soil water power seeds makes it 210 bucks a OZ
the first 70 is to recover the cost u spent on making
the 2nd 70 is so u can double up on the grow for next time
and the final 70 is your profit and time for the work

this is a fair system u might undercut the greedy ppl but u are doing it fairly and not being greedy yourself .....................this is how i have advoided trouble since i gotten out of jail ...................i hook ppl up with a nice phat sack little bit of stems mostly buds and did not pick tricones off like other ppl in the area...........when ever one of them got popped by cops they kept mouth shut about me becuase they liked what i did for them and the prices

The best advice you are going to get: Do your homework before you decide to do anything. You better have EVERYTHING lined up and taken care of before you get here. Based on your questions above I would say that you're in over your head.

Sorry, but I have to agree with angryblackman. Moved here two years ago, and the market was already saturated then. Even more saturated now. Have only met one grower that is consistently able to sell to a dispensary - and he is like the zen master of pot. And the dispensary will only take certain strains (only those with EXTREMELY high THC or CBDs). And the grower pays to get his stuff tested, which isn't cheap. And to make matters worse, dispensaries are shutting down daily here. Heard on the radio last week that more than 60% of the dispensaries in the area are expected to close within the next year, or have done so already. I'm really not trying to discourage you. I LOVE it here. But definitely make sure you have a fallback plan. Good luck!!!

as for selling it to actual clinic

here is what u do grow it ............make the best one u can.............now u have to take 1 gram of it and send it into a testing lab to get a print out of the chemicals ..from there u take that report and make several certified copies ..............call up and make appointmetns with the managers/owners of the clinics take in 2 grams of your stuff plus the report

give the man the report and let them read give them a 1 gram to sample and then give them the other gram so they can send it to a lab and test for self ..............if they like the product and it is something they can sell use then they will be all over it

look for medical grades ones that have proven results ........................rem high thc is just one side of pain and all that pick several strains with altering chemcials like CBDs those are sellers for other big problems

Yeah I figured it was saturated. I've been growing for a few years in the south and I've got my system pretty down. Seeing as growing here is completely illegal I wanted to get somewhere that I could do it a little bit safer. My goal really was to just get out of the black market all together. I appreciate all the help so far. I'm looking more to grow and vend to fund the start up of my own dispensary. If a dispensary decides to buy from you how much weight and how do you get it to them?

Ugh.. Wrong direction.. You are worse off trying to start a dispensary than you are trying to sell to one.

There are a few threads down below that will mention what you can get for vending but unless you have created a new strain that beats the hell out of everyone or figured out a way to pull Blue Dream yields from GSC you will only barely scrape by to cover your grow costs. Maybe have a couple of nice dinners before you have to start your next cycle to make rent.

if this is what u are looking to do then stay where u are and move to a area where the laws are about to change .............my own state they are i have set up a 35k loan at 4.5% .............my rep as a stoner and a fair dealing mofu is the bouns...........when the laws change u have to be one of the first to apply for the leicence and paperwork i mean u get it and have it back in the hands same day if not the next

then u can be assured a ok and a lience to set up 20k for the set up 10k for counter measures to adviod stick up and robbing and 5 k for unseen exps and little to get by for first month maybe 2

ifs its damn good they will take whatever you can bring them, they usualy take no less then a lbs at a time, and youll get anywhere from 2 -2.6k.

dispensarie is a bad option these days, they are all getting shut down, the place i vend to is closeing in a couple months due to city putting up restrictions, along with every other city in california. Delivery service is where its all headed, which is sketchy all in it self.

heck i need a parnter so i can get a couple days off a week ...............all my buddies are ballless wounders

i just started learning to grow i can make some decent stuff ....that is what ppl are telling me but i have not found my personal strain or my limts yet ........i am still on soil and auto plants

(just a note for your reacords auto plants are the best for making money .......short time to grow short period of power needed and some of the strains are like 90 days with 400 gram yeilds for u super growers with the skills and time invested already thc around 17% others higher and some high CBDS )

Not at all true! I have seen some SR8 DANK!!!!!!!! get turned down because well.. they weren't in the mood to try it out and already had a good source. Most of these places are growing their own or have vendors already set up. It's a dog eat dog world out there. There are some REALLY great growers here that I have spoken to that have been turned down for some reason or another.

your better off moving to colorado , arizona, or maine to do what you want to do. And your better bet i think would be to register as a caregiver in one of those states and make your income off supplying your maximum limit of patients. Dispensaries and making money off of them in cali are basically a thing of the past

Yes they do. I've got the run around many times. Angryblackman ain't shitting you. Most clubs all ready have a source and see no need to gamble on some new in town grower(possible informer). Trust me, I had that same idea. Being some where it is illegal fully, you start to feel like a big fish in a small pond. Well in california you will be a plankton in the pacific ocean as far as growing goes. California is a heartbreaker and has sent millions back home with crushed dreams.
Plus you can still go to jail for bud in cali just not as easy.

Yup. These days you're almost better off coming to California to break into the movie business and become a star.

I think Washington and Cali are both over saturated. I recently went back to Seattle and was in pioneer sqaure.. there were people openly smoking in public. And the police are confused as to what is abuse so much so the mayor had to make a public address about not disrespecting L.E.

I grow for personal and i may make some money on the side.

Hell when i really want to save money i drive to Trinity and get that good old emerald triangle flowers. And the triangle sells some good greenhouse lbs for next to nothing.

I was refering to tbe quantity of product. He asked how much they will take, if its good and like you said they like you or have room for you, they will take all 10ibs if thats what u got. Most clubs have there own vendors they've been dealing with for yrs so good luck moving in on those, best bet find a new club, try and set up a good relationship with them and hope things go well.

Just want to say, if your really serious about making a move like this do your research and move to a place you may actually have a chance at being successful. Opening a dispensary pretty much anywhere is extremely difficult. There are ALOT of legal hoops to jump through to get into that ring. But you will atleast have a better chance moving into a state thats just now moved into the legal medical market. I say by all means pursue your dreams just go somewhere you might actually have a chance of making it. No matter where you go its going to be a real challenge to make any legal income from it but anything is better than going to Cali in this regard
