I saw one that used several cheap Chinese led panels, and it was surprisingly successful. Dig around, it's not all a tale of woe.

HigH people. Well last night I flushed the Ladies. Just about a week to go and its harvest time. They are really smelling beautiful! Unfortunately a little too beautiful for some around here. I have some ONA gel out on a saucer with a little fan blowing over it. I think it's alright but my wife is worried and says she can still smell the ladies. I do have a carbon filter inside and when I put my nose to the exhaust I cannot smell the ladies. Must be some odors leaking out of the cabinet. My wife must have some super sense of smell because I don't think it's a problem. Anyway I got to make her happy so I am asking if anyone has any recommendations beside the ONA gel to kill the sweet smell of the Beautiful Ladies? I called the place where I bought the ONA and asked if they had any recommendations for something better. They said no. So now It's time to ask here and do some research. Thanks for any advice on this!

HigH everyone. Today is the start of week 9, and better yet 5 days from harvest! Hell's Yeah! Last night I bought some Fiskar's pruning snips with the micro tip blades at the home depot for $10.90. I am sure they will do the job here in the next few days. I used them this morning while the ladies were out of the cabinet. Got rid of some dead foliage and took a look at the trichomes of all three ladies. I was able to pull a hustle and I got an Edmunds Scientific microscope out of the deal. Sure does make it easy to check out the trich's on those leaves I snipped! I also broke out the hand held and checked the trich's also. I am seeing amber and milky trich's from different areas of each lady. It has been five days since I flushed and they were dry this morning. I did give them a little drink today. About two liters each. In a few days I will turn the light out till harvest time! Dam I can't believe I am about to harvest my first grow! The bad ass thing to me is that my ladies aren't scraggly, they look and smell like the CHRONIC to me! I have wanted to do this for so long! I started out really scared and second guessing just about everything I did, but I am gaining confidence in my ability to grow my own CHRONIC medicine. I was worried if the light would perform as advertised, and to me it has! Like I said this is my first ever grow, so I can't compare my LED to a mh/hps system. What I do know now is that an LED light will grow CHRONIC medicine! Of course I still have to harvest, cure and smoke but I have no doubt I am gonna be ripped on Thanksgiving! LOL! After all my goal was to be smoking my first crop on Thanksgiving, and it looks like I will meet that goal. I can't wait to hook up a few friends with some nuggs! I want some feedback good or bad, and of course I will post a smoke report from my friends and I. Anyway thanks for following and here are some pics from this morning. Enjoy! Here is the EasyRyder:

Thanks for the kind words! I have thought of harvesting a few buds. Where do you suggest I clip from? I would love to have an early taste, and like you said something to compare also!

I agree, very well done sir. Your first grow has ended up far better than mine but thats what happens when you go cheap (me). My next round I think I am going to try a DWC hydro setup and some actual nutrients vs. the Miracle Grow soil I grew my first batch in.
Make sure to give us an update on your dry weight once all that trimming / drying is done.

Nice job! I grew Blue him. diesel of short stuff and it was good shit. Always was curios on how those lights would do and it looks awesome. And quiet.
To your smell prob. Ozone generators work but can be dangerous if not used prop. I had to build a whole separate room insulated and dry walled and painted, plus exhaust the air out a chimney. The smell was pretty funky with the setup I had before a lot of air leaks, and those tents will have some.

I always do it if I am trying a new strain. I will harvest at perhaps 5% amber, 25% amber and 50% amber for example, dependant on strain. That way I know in the future which effect I like best and I can time the flushing etc to match this..
It doesn't really matter where you snip from at this point. Just try to go for a couple of clearly different stages
I was in no doubt that those lights will produce as I have seen several great ones. It literally is just the cost issue that makes it unviable for a lot of people. particularly if they step up to 600, 1000 watts. I'm sure we will have LED grows eventually here, once customers can follow suit so to speak. Mind you I would have to find a more manly colour haha

Maybe I'll take a sample from all three. Any suggestions on drying the samples? For the main harvest I will be using my cabinet for the drying. I assume you would want to dry and cure the samples like you would the main harvest?

I think it's wise advice to take a few buds early and late for variety. I was thinking along those lines. I'm surprised more people don't take buds at more than one time.

I think you'r smart to drop the mg for nutes. Feed the soil, not the plants. You'll improve the taste considerably. Plus, it's just better all around. And, I'm sure you know, under feeding is much better than overfeeding.
But what am I telling you for, you're the master grower. A long low bow to your success, maestro.

Lol! Thank you for the kind words! Lmao it's more like rookie grower not master grower! I still have a lot to learn and do to become anywhere close to a master grower! That is the ultimate goal though, to get the science down and to have as many successful grows as possible. I don't want to have to buy my medicine anymore! The only money I should be spending is for seeds nutrients and stuff like that to keep growing. Thanks again!
