High everyone. Well the ladies are finally manicured and hanging in the cabinet. Holy shit! I didn't realize how tedious it could be to trim. Plus it took my rookie ass forever! I started out being really anal, and then realized you gotta just trim this bitch! Anyway i gotta make it quick before the power goes out again. So the total weight for all plants is 653.2grams. The EasyRyder's wet/stem weight is 264.9 grams. The Small ONYX wet/stem weight is 208.4, and the Big ONYX wet/stem weight is 179.9. Of course once they are dry enough to cure I will cut them from the main stems and reweigh and post! Here is the EasyRyder:

LMAO at anyone who doubts LED lighting. I am proof that it works, and I am a rookie who has never grown shit. I wish you guys could actually feel these buds! They are fucking nice!! I am amazed at what I have accomplished for my first ever grow, and using new technology at that. Like I said I am proof that LED lights can produce good bud! Yeah it still has to dry and cure, but it is stoney as hell and will probably taste killa when cured! Yeah it was an expensive light, but I have explained that mh/hps will not work for me and my situation. LED will, and has! I saved, made a few sacrifices, and in the end I have some CHRONIC NUGGS! Hells Yeah! That's all I wanted was to have some Chronic Medicine that I can say I grew myself! IMHO these Nuggs look and smell as good as the medicine I pick up from the dispensary! No lie! I am proud of this shit! Before I got my authorization I used to have a hook up who grew. I'll take the pepsi challenge against his shit! lol Gotta go power is about to go! cya and thanks for checking it out!

This is your first ever grow so how the hell can you compare it to a grow you have done with HPS? That's just daft. You cannot.
How many people are really going to believe that a 270w LED grow can produce better weed than the dispensaries who are probably using upwards of 1000w hps?
We have given you credit for this but now you are sounding like you are on big commissions like a few of the others that were found to be
No one has said you cant grow with it, just the basic acceptance that it will not beat HPS of the same power, which of course uses the same amount of energy to run.
I suggest people make up their own minds and do some research of course like with most things

"LEDs are the snake oil of indoor growing - foolish purchasers (myself included) fall victim to the Average Watt Fallacy and end up with a couple hundred dollars worth of pretty Christmas lights that work about as good as a florescent tube. A CFL will outperform any LED I've seen in veg, an MH will make the comparison laughable. Right now HPS/MH are the best for flower, there are some good ceramic bulbs out there too.
I have 4 LED UFOs, I've taken a bat to one - I'll put up some pics later. the same LED lights from the same manufacturer - this is factual - send my flowering plants back into veg to grow new top colas and turns my clones in veg into flower. They are absolute garbage and anyone who buys one is an idiot with more money than brains. I never had much money to be honest.

ps I've made a prototype for an elliptical trough reflector that focuses LED light into a useful flowering light. Luckily I took my LED apart before smashing the housing, now I have a few bucks of electronics that I've paid hundreds for. If you've bought LEDs think this way"

Whoa dude! What the hell is your prob? I never ever compared my grow to an hps grow! All I said was that LED lights produce good buds and that I am proof! IMO my buds look as good as buds I have been buying from the dispensary! What I can't have an opinion on my own thread! Now I'm sounding like I am on commission? WTF? I emailed the company who I bought the light from since they asked me over a month ago to write a review, and they have not even responded to me! Commission I fucking wish this shit is expensive as fuck! Excuse the fuck out of me for being happy about my first ever grow! I asked the company if they do have an incentive for giving reviews since it was recommende by a few people on RIU! Like I said no response at all ! I know what my light has produced and that's good enough for me! I don't have to prove shit to you or anyone else for that matter! I got the chronic that's all that matters to me!!!!

Regarding trimming: I like the way they manicure plants before they chop at Greenhouse Seeds. By pulling the sun leaves they get the plant to bleed sticky.
Seems wise to me. But, I know nothing and am just asking (*disclaimer).

I would recommend you do your research and buy a quality light from a reputable manufacturer or site. The main thing I wanted was a light that was a stand alone light. I wanted one LED light set up and no other supplemental lighting. I seen my light in HigH Times magazine 2010 grow gear guide. At that time they had it as the best new LED technology. Once I found out it was good for all phases of growth(even flowering) I had to have it! Spendy as hell? Yes! But I saved my loot, sold my drum set and did a little hustling to put my setup together. Am I happy with my light? Hells Yeah! It has performed exactly as I hoped it would! My first harvest is hanging waiting to be cured, and I am proud as hell! The nuggs are really nice! Solid! Definitely something I would buy! Seriously these are nice and tight and for a rookie you couldn't ask for a more hassle free grow! Nothing really went wrong for me. Amazing, since I was scared and thought I would fuck something up. Lol. Anyway bottom line for me is do your research, and buy a quality LED light and seeds with good genetics!! I did and I am happy! Hells Yeah!

Right on man! Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it! Not sure what's up with that dude? Pretty weird because dude was along for the ride from the beginning. I am just happy about my first grow being a success! I took a big risk spending a lot of loot on my light! It looks like the risk wasn't to bad because the light has produced what looks like the CHRONIC to me! You know there are a lot of LED haters out there, and I just wanted to LMAO at the doubters and haters! That's all! It's like pc vs. Mac. Kinda. I have no prob with either it's all good! As long as someone is growing, why hate on their setup? We all have the same goal, and that is to grow the best bud we can! Don't hate, CONGRATULATE! That's how I see it!
Anyway I will definitely post those dry weights! I can't wait to toke it up!
Quick question for anyone. Do you wait till the branch snaps before moving to jars? Or do you leave a little flexibility in the branch? My two Onyx seem really dry to touch. The branches have a little bend in them. Can I start moving to jars and just watch the moisture and remove lids to let dry out some? Thanks for any input I appreciate it!

My experience and my friend says the same thing and he's a true pro, "crispy" is better than crunchy. In other words you want the stem to crack from dryness but not to be so dry and brittle that it breaks and seperates. He's grown some of the best bud i've ever smoked and a lot of varieties too and most of the bud he would dry/cure/then sell would be crispy to the touch and as soon as you break up the dry bud it puts like liquid resin all over my fingers and you can tell this is an oil not water. I always felt like his bud burnt the smoothest and most even. Hope this helps.
