Where did you get the metal tie-downs and are you using different sizes at different stages of growth? Do they have a name? Thanks.
I have been a follower of penguin'sLST posts and tried the LST with my three plants (attached). I'm thinking about a 400W kit like penguin got but not sure what brand he bought or where he bought it. Also, I noticed he watches temperature and humidity. How do he keep them so low? Is that a fan dehumizifier in the background? What kind is it? I just need to put a little more effort and money into my first grow. I set up a huge tent yesterday and that was a real chore. Should I transplant to larger containers before doing any more LST? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!

Nice thread Mate. Loved looking through it. lsting has done the job great! I've just finished 4 GWS and have harvested 6.5 ounces. (first ever grow) Does that sound good or bad? I supercroped the lot semi successfully. Also trimming but I think I went a bit too far.. Leaves everywhere lol.. Next time I'm trying lst for sure.

Everything is looking super good bro! Glad 2 see that there turning purple 4 you to. That strain "DPF" has always lived true to its name. I always place a few "ice cubes" ontop of my soil when I flush the last few days, drop them temps down to around 60ish or so, and she'll really put a show on 4 ya!! 
the buds will also turn purple late flowering. 
so try and let her go as long as you can.. you'll really like the way she does of you do.. You've really done those justice bro.. glad to see you like those genetics..

Hey RIPE, I love to help out when I can so I'll try my best to explain here.. The metal hooks that I use are bought for cheap at our favorite home improvement store.. They're about 2 bucks. I use them throughout the entire growth of the plant starting very young at about the third leaf set. The reason why I keep a close eye on temperature and humidity is because they are crucial in order for your plants to be at their happiest. Happy plants from seedling throughout harvest will reward you at the end. What I have at the back of my plants on each corner are simply fans to circulate air. The kit that I bought was from Amazon, it's Apollo brand. This is my second grow with the ballast and bulb and it's still working flawless. I did upgrade the wing it came with to an air cooled hood, and I would strongly recommend you do the same or simply start with a kit that comes with one. Hey skinup, thanks for your comments man I really appreciate it. Sounds like you had a great start, 6.5 ounces is awesome for your first grow! It'll only get better from here. Sup Dank! Thanks for the advice bro I'll try that out and let you know how it goes! I plan on letting her go for 8 weeks(10 since 12/12) wish I could let her go to 9 but my baby girl will be here soon! Anyway we'll see. Thanks for stopping by..

I'm not sure how the heat will be like with the cool tube as I went with the wing kit. So if you bought the cool tube bundle you should wait and see how your temps will be like first before you invest in a hood. Or rather than investing in a hood, you can put that money towards getting an inline fan and ducting to air cool your cool tube! Just a thought.

Its already got the hood with a 6" cooling vent but I only get one HPS bulb and no timer. I have a fan and duct. I plugged the fan into power today and it sounded like a Boeing C-17 taking off so I ordered this fan speed controller: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HQAVNI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Also order the AcuRite 613 Indoor Humidity Monitor. Putting the boxing gloves on now to fight the Mrs. [h=1][/h]

That fan won't be as loud once you hook it up to ducting and the hood. Free air they are quite loud. Good luck with the Mrs.!

you want a variac controler not that one for inline fans. those are fine for duct boosters but inlines should always have a 5amp Variac controler will cost you around $30 more then stepless but it is made for those.

yea thats what you need. it will actually drop the power used to the fan saving money and your fan. stepless change the Pulse of power not the lvl of it.
edit: give me a lil bit and i'll find the one site has them for around 50-60$ tho it is from germany i believe

Hey CruzinPenguin, Thanks for the reply. Mainline really looks like the way forward. Nugs is the man without doubt. I'll be reading lots from now on..
- I've got a quik Question, ''Is it possible to get 3 week old babies..... Veg for 3 weeks..... Flower, for appropriate time eg 8 weeks....Harvest/Dry and still get 6/7 ounces per plant??? Without Mainlining/fiming/lsting/topping, just letting them ''do there thing''...I would love to know.
This is what I've been told from a M8. Although from reading (alot) on RIU I find this hard to believe!!
Any thoughts????
