my boyfriend burned my butter help now

happy holiday guys, my boyfriend just burned 1/4 an ounce of dispensary grade buds into butter then removed it from the heat. What can we do? It turned black and smelled awful. Please help asap much love.

How hot do you think it got? Anything over boiling go to long and the thc is gone

must've been no longer than 5 minutes on low simmering after the butter began to boil... on an electric stove.

You'll prolly get high, not as high as if it did not boil tho. I cook my vape oil so I've done fucked up half oz lol.

If it's black you got problems. Is it all black or did you just burn some of it? The stuff you didn't burn you should be able to salvage I'd imagine. Most likely some potency loss, but still probably useable.

Do this next time (with butter instead of chocolate chips lol)

Yuck! I'd pitch it.

Next time, add your bud and butter directly into a pot of boiling water. Let it slow boil for 45 mintues or so. Strain it. Cool the strained butter and water solution in the fridge for a few hours and the cannabutter will separate from the water. Scoop it off and cook with it. No risk of burning it.
