With dry ice, also be aware of your temp. They may be bringing you down, you want to stay around 75 in there. That is a goog idea to kill two birds with one stone, dry-ice to cool and give CO2.

Not sure what my ppm is im not that technical lol!!! but my plants responded well to the lowering of the lighting...almost too well they started to bush irradically and im now having to space the pots out a lil. so heres the new pics and some of the repaired stem. I know you mentioned having a 400 watter. How big is your grow area? You may not need that to make up in CO2, 400w should be enough for a smaller...say 3x3 area. Maybe, enough for a 4x4 area. Good that you are supplementing with CFLs. If you have a lot of empty space in the grow area, those dark spots will draw away light from your plants. This is serious science you can look it up. If you have a larger area you may be able to setup up a little wall with the panda plastic to get more reflectivity on your garden. I can't make the pics bigger, I am looking at them on my TV, they look good in the thumbnails. Glad to see everything is going so well. Happy the girls are bushing out for you, haha.

i only used the cfls for the first 10 or 12 days and the went MH my grow room is roughly like 2.5 x 5 and change and 7 foot tall but from the top of the pot to the bulb is 42 inches so im thinking of vegiing to 18 inches then flipping

Safe bet on flipping @18". Mr. Natural was saying something about you using an MH to flower, is that true? In Ed Rosenthal's handbook states,"Blue light at 400-450nm also has an inhibitory effect on flowering..." going on to state that pure blue light in the dark phase can make the plants more stocky. Does that mean they will be able to carry heavier yields?

based on what i read there will be less bud than with a HPS light but the high will be greater so it kind of balances out. but i do believe there will be less need to tie them up and yes im gonna run thru mh str8 thru till the end once i start to lose lower light i think im gonna toss in a 4 foot floro with the grow tubes. not sure but playing with the idea and it also depends on how many of the ten end up being females as i started them all from seed.

I wonder how buds would turn out by running them...say 6 of the 12 hrs under a HPS and the other 6 under a MH. I'm high so ignore me if that is the stupidest thing you've ever heard haha I thought about doing that during veg but talked myself out of it.

Do you plan to top them or s-crop, lst, etc..?

Thats not crazy, who knows... u should try it, maybe it could be a new standard, or produce colas the size of your head (lol im assuming you have a huge head!!) you should start some clonees and give it a whirl who knows u might end up with your own sticky high powered bud that u can name???

I did top some, lst'd some, supercropped some and a few im running with no mods but after i damaged a plant i gave up on the lst but those plants did get some of the benefits from it.

Hey m8, nice plants! Sorry to hear about your LST troubles. You would be amazed at what you would have been rewarded with if you had stuck it out and continued your LST. But it is never too late...
Just bend a little every day is all. Not all at once. Nice grow either way though m8.

Joco,

Subbed, you seem to be about 20 - 30 days behind me.

Everything looking good for you so far, plants are coming in nicely for their age.

Did you find the topping and LST have drastic effects on your plants? I LST two of my four and they spread out nicely and the lower branches are now at the same height of the main stem.

It looks as if you need a new fixture (post #12), bare wires taped up is a grow room NO-NO; I can tell you some bad horror stories from colleagues who jerry-rigged equipment and found out (in the worst way) why spending an extra $150 - $350 for safe equipment is is worth it. Hope yours is safe.

Get yourself a PPM meter, a tri-meter is best if you got the $$$. Most experienced users will preach "read your plants" but I just read my meter and do not have to wonder what the plant wants.

Good grow so far, keep it up.

Thanx for nice comment ive decided to save lst'ing for the next grow the most of my plants have multi-colas and im limited by space so i dont want them overly bushy im getting super tight node growth like 1/4 inch so im just gonna let them run if i knew how many were females it would be different. Thanx for the Sub

I did notice that the topping(i used the uncle ben method) produced four colas every time. as for the fixture i bought it for $35 but had no wires so i looked up the wiring diagram and thats a speacial tape not electrical tape and im only using it for one grow then im gonna reinvest in a better and stronger light. Im using an organic fertilizer and the Full technaflora fert line like BC Boost BC Grow Sugar Daddy ya da ya da

I agree with getting an ec/TDS/pH multimeter deal whenever you are able. That is just another way to watch the girls, I'm sure anyone who uses this method also checks the leaves and stem growth on a regular basis, even if they are not realizing they are doing so. If you rely on one way to troubleshoot problems you are bound to fail. Be cautious and always look for a second opinion (be it through a meter, pictures here, or friends). It will most likely keep you from doing anything you shouldn't to your plants.

Like with the droopy plants I mentioned before and told you to lower your light, which I felt was a simple step. No, getting meters or new equipment. Someone else might have suggested blowing it up with nutes. Be informed in all ways about your grow. Use all your 5 senses and the 6th sense of technology, keep a log. I see numerous posts everyday by new growers who are trying to guesstimate their situation and it usually ends well, but with troubles along every step of the road.

To summarize; watch your plants in all ways including measurements with a meter. If you didn't care about what the plants wanted you wouldn't even be reading them with a meter.

Glad to see the updates, and they are good ones Joco.

Sorry that this turned into a rant, I feel like it is necessary to give the opposing viewpoint to someone saying that you don't need to watch your plants.

Lanternslight your absolutely right, I do not just use my meter but rely also on books, magazines, friends, members here at RIU, and plain old common sense.

I did not mean for my post to sound like "just read your meter and you will be fine", obviously there is more to growing then just numbers, but I feel if you have a good schedule (feeding, watering, airing) then you can get through 75% - 85% of your grow by keeping the numbers on point. The disclaimer being it WILL take some time for you to adjust your schedules to the specific strain and your environment, but once you get a rhythm the plants will grow themselves.
