My first DWC setup, any feedback would be great

Sweet thanks Flo, and yes I definitely will get a meter soon enough it's just not in the budget just yet. Also, I've already notice some leaning and potential top-heavy issues because the hydroton pellets provide no support. I am used to growing in soil only and this problem is quickly solved with a stick and some string. How do some of you fellow DWCers support your big busty ladies? I can seem this becoming a potential issues come harvest time when there will hopefully be some serious weight on top.

Here is another update in week 5 of veg for the large Flo ladies and week 2 in veg for the new genetics. I had a few issues with the roots of the clones when I transplanted but they all seemed to perk back up and should be fine. Ive got a few mites to deal with on the new clones too, but I have had much success in the past with getting them out of my room so I'm not too worried. I have a perpetual right now every month/4 weeks, I just pulled down a large soil Flo today, the plant I took the two DWC Flos from, I didn't harvest as much as I would have hoped but she's smelling real nice. I have a soil Blue Cheese that will be ready in about 4 weeks, in which case I will be flipping the two large Flos to 12/12 within a week to have that for a late May harvest. Let me know what you guys think, heres some shots of the Flo cola, and the current grow setup. Advise, Comment, Critique!

Jus found a little bit of powder on the lower leaves of two of my little clones. It seems to be the early stages of powdery mildew. I live in a very dry place, and my room RH isn't above 40% often, if ever. I had to raise the water level dramatically when transplanting into the hydroton because they didn't like jus the tip of the root touching, so now half of my net pot is submerged and they seem to be happily growing (compared to last week), but I've noticed some mildew. Could this be why they started to mold, because the water is so high creating too wet of an environment? Either way, what can I do to stop this from taking over my new genetics? Any help or advice would be great, I wanna take care of this asap so nothing serious happens...

If they have roots, lower the water level to JUST under the pot.
Are your clones in rockwool ?
If so, then you don't want the cubes staying wet or the clones will "dampen-off".

Heres another update....heres the fulll setup in the first pic, 2 flowering ladies and 4 veg. There's no second light so the flowering ladies go into a dark room every 12 hours to create a flower environment. I gutted the center and bottom of the plants, as seen in pics 4 and 5, and am ready for flower time. as far as the nutrient showdown, GH and fox farm were pretty much the same until this last week when the Fox Farm feeding schedule called for a bloom additive and has grown almost 7 inches in one week. As soon as I get KoolBloom (GH bloom additive) I think the plants will even out. So far GH (cheapest, easiest feed) has been successful. please advise, critique, comment....thanks guys

Looking good MH, and you did a great job cleaning up them plants too.
You'll get good air circulation thru them now.

I started with GH, and will probably never switch either.
Simple, inexpensive, effective and in the nute game longer than most (95%+) !!
I use powder KoolBloom instead, and it's easy to store/keep versus the liquid.
I use 2 teaspoonful every 2 weeks, starting on Day 14 Bloom until Day Day 42.
So that's 3 doses for me.

sweet, yah I will be adding Kool Bloom within a week, in order to match the two nutes and correctly compare them I need kool bloom to use against tiger bloom (fox farm). I was GH all the way but am a little swayed by the FF flo in the past week....decisions, decisions

i have my first dwc going in a 35 gallon rubbermaid tote. they are three ak47 x white widow i started from seed. im at day 11 roughly. ill post pics when i can

I'm not doing anything besides keeping the pH where it needs to be, and checking the temps when possible. These black buckets keep all light out and I haven't had any temp issues yet but the warmer months are around the corner which I've heard some people say they can't even grow with DWC during the summer because they can't beat the root rot. Other than that, average nutes, good room temp, and a nice size airstone keep my babies white and healthy.

Those ARE some nice ass roots MH !
And those that have heat issues during the Summer need to go COOLER style !! lol

You're all about the cooler Flo! And was anyone else shocked when you saw the whole garden? I thought it was just 2 plants in a 3 gal bucket, then 2 plants in 2 5-gal buckets, then a whole garden from nowhere. HA, everything looks great, and the roots are very white, very long. Keep it up!!! +rep

yah I keep adding things here and there without much update on the RIU, sorry. But in the last month or so the 4 "little" ones (bluberry x2, and matanuska tundra x2) have really taken off. So now my current setup has the two FLOs in 5-gals, and the other four in they're own 3gals. Since I am currently without a second light, my flower room consists of a dark room I setup with thick black plastic (5 feet from the veg space) that I transport the flowering ladies into every night. It's a hassle, but I don't have the funds for a second light and room right now, and I'll be moving after this harvest so I need to stay mobile for now. Thanks for the compliments, any advice for further support once the buds start to really weigh down these branches. Since I didn't go scrog is there anything similar I can do to support besides securing some bamboo sticks around the bucket and tying strings to the heaviest branches?

Time for another update, it's been awhile. So the two large Flo's are into their thrid week of flower, the little baby whites are showing! Now the fun begins. There's a pic of my whole garden, just added a 12-site bucket and will be flipping the whole room today. The 12-site is mixed with bluberry clones and flo clones, and the other four are two Matanuska Tundra, and two Blueberry. Stay tuned for some flowers! Advise, comment, critique, thanks all.
