Hello and welcome to my Ghetto Grow. Also, thank you to the many who've come before me and shared their knowledge here.
I'm a 50-something dad with a decent green thumb and an appreciation for fine weed. I've been curious about growing but never have. I typically enjoy the headiness of a good sativa, but imo it isn't easy to find great sativas here in Portland. So I decided to grow my own.
On June 1, I got a small BB clone from a local retailer. I took it home, watered it, and put it under two cheap LED blurples (200w each) in my guest bathroom.
I fed it Brita-filtered water and a 1/4-strength Fox Farm trio, with a few other minor things thrown in occasionally (Schultz's when I wanted a good, simple push, and very light CalMag a few times, as a preventative measure only).
Eventually, I sprung another $40 for another Amazon LED -- this time, 600W.
I was super particular about some basic things, but really this was a "common sense" grow. Basically, I kept it stupid-simple. By all rights, this shouldn't even be growing. Some may say the final product may be weak. Who knows? I wanted to learn on one plant and simply focus on the basics.
I am happy to share any info about my grow. How I fimmed a FIM and ended up topping. How I scientifically planned the nutrient regimen. How I set my ph.
I have just flipped to flower. I don't have any idea what's going to flower where, but it appears pretty primed to me. I light-proofed the bathroom and switched the timers to 12/12 this past weekend.
There are a few things I need to correct for going forward -- mostly notably, fresh air intakes/exhausts. IMO I'm moving the air okay (with a small fan), but I'm not moving enough volume of air in and then out of that room.
I will actually probably spend the cash to have this weed tested, simply so I can have a baseline measurement of THC (or something, not yet sure) from this grow, from this plant.
I've taking a few cuttings already, and will take a few more at the end.
Any and all feedback is welcome, and thank you again.
