pretty sure it is man
ive used it nicely for me and a couple of buddy s
and it works ESPECIALLY well for cfls
so I dont know why you say that 30 bulbs with 2000 lumens a piece only make 2000 lumens on a lux meter
I doubt that allot ive never used one but have seen in use in a you tube video
and if to does show up 2000 which is DOUBTFUL
its stilll 30 times 2000
the light has not gone any where

soooo lets put it like this
YOU CANT MEASURE LIGHT
the sun emmits 10,000 lummens per square foot
so thats kinda what we go off

you got a cfl fixture puts off 30,000 lummens
got 4 total square feet
7500lummens per square

I dont know if were miss communicating or something
but this is good advice and does work

read some more about it before you call me wrong please

The fans came yesterday but not until after 5 and had some shit to do so I didn't get to install them until today. Anyways, I am going to attach pictures that are taken through the new installed fans. I also lowered the lights about 3 inches a few days ago and it shows the new lighting level. Let me know what you guys think (to close?). Also, the bugs in the 3rd plant seemed to be gone.

I will be putting these into 1 gallon bags today also. When I do that I am going to put a layer of sand on top. Hopefully that will get rid of them for good.

better pics would be nice
but none the less they looks like they are improving
glad to see you wanna go with the 1 gallon keeps us posted

well of course 30 cfls is going to be better than 6 but it's not practical. I've done cfl grows as well as a few friends who have as well. If you have 30 CFLs the heat would be so intense that I would be pushing temps 90-100+. Been there.. tried that, stop watching you tube videos.

So here are some new pics of the ladies in their new 1 gallon bad. I didn't transplant the small one because I figured it need a little more time in the cup (My girlfriend's sister's dog ate the only other 1 gallon bag I had). That dog has a crazy affinity for plastic, instead of giving him a normal chew toy I give him a milk jug and he is happy as hell...crazy dog.

Anyways, I put a half inch of sand on top of the soil hoping it will mess those bugs up. I didn't see any yesterday when I checked on the ladies but they were everywhere today. Hopefully this will get rid of them. Also, I lowered the lights to about an inch away from the largest plant and it happened to grow about a 1/2 about this same day and the top leaf got a little burnt. :dunce: Needless to say I moved up my the lights up today.

The larger plants both seem to coming along nicely but the little one just doesn't want to seem to want to do anything. I am hoping it is concentrating all its energy developing its roots and its about to pop up any day now. :?:

Damn, he left! I was just getting started with him. Some people just cant take constructive criticism. I hope he comes back "cuz" (haha) I wanted to ask him one last request:

Show me a grow using 30+ cfls in a grow box that is about 3' by 2' that is actually a successful grow. With 30+ cfls you would be using ~800+ watts. Haha, who the hell would be crazy enough to do that rather than grow with an 600 or 1000 watt HPS that is capable of yielding way more bud than cfls? Once again, it's not practical and to be honest with you, it's borderline retarded behavior.

Sorry bro, Ill take some more pictures today and post them maybe tomorrow. No real updates other than I watered the ladies today and they look good. The one that used to be the biggest has now been taken over by the one that had the bug problem. Look at past pictures and see a little burn spot on the tip of the leaf on the biggest plant. Well there on the same lady there are 3 other spots just like it on that one. I also watered them today. It had been 3 days since the last watering because I was waiting for the soil to dry in an effort to rid the ladies of the bugs.

so i just decided that I am not going to post any more pics till Thursday or Friday. These ladies are really starting to take off and look very good after a good watering today. The changes will be more drastic and obvious.

Ok, so I really couldn't wait till till the 2 week anniversary of the ladies being in my care which is on Friday (tomorrow). If you compare the pictures from two weeks ago you can see that in two weeks these ladies have more that doubled except for maybe the runt of the littler. She seems to be quite healthy, I just think she needed a bit longer to develop her roots before she takes off.:hump: So the two larger ladies are about 4 inches tall and the little one is about 2 and 3/4.

Anyways, enjoy the pictures and let me know what you think. THC, do you see the drooping you were seeing before? I seemed to have perked up after I watered them yesterday. Also, any comments on the burn on the leaves in the first picture? I think it is a light burn but not too sure.

Also, I am using 1/4 of the nutes the Technaflora kit says to use at this time. I think I am going to step it up to 1/2 the nutes next week.:peace:

Hell yeah bro, they are looking great! much better than before, perfectly healthy. Should be fine to go up to 1/2 nutes.

where is my hortilux?

hey homer, looks good bro, it is nice you have a coach for your first time. Sounds like you guys all get along real well. And now that you are all growing you can help each other out. I might wait for the 1/2 strength for one more week. It is better to underfeed than overfeed in my opinion, as I am battling some nute burn myself at the time being I would suggest a slower transition. Talk with your buddies about what is best for your situation, but those are just my 2 cents. Take it easy bro and keep up the good work, they are looking good!

Thanks man! I think that is great advice. I have read some more about nute burn and agree with you. I don't want to over do it. The miracle grow i am using already has nutes in it so I think I will be over doing it if i put any more in it. I will have to wait 3 months to use up all the nutes in the MG until I get more agressive otherwise I think I will turn them yellow or maybe even kill them.

Thanks again for the level headed advice unlike getting suggesting for 30 CFLs in a 3*2 box!

And yeah me and THC go way back and are best friends. Its so much more fun to have some get excited with you. Others really dont understand.kiss-ass HAHA

Hey bro thanks for the purchase today. For all that don't know, I was laid off recently and have been on a very tight budget; I have been using a home depot hps bulb which is only 44000 lumens and not a very good spectrum for flowering. Homer bought a hortilux which is 55000 lumens and has a great spectrum. He is going to let me use it until either he gets a 400 hps setup or I pay him back for it. Great friend lucky to have him.
