C'mon you guys cut him some slack. I'm sure if the kid had a propensity to drink any and everything, spence would have dropped whatever it was and locked the shit up immediately. But no, the kid has a propensity to dump shit out. Spence thought it would be safe on a shelf for a bit, it wasn't. And some people just have a propensity to flame people.
thanks for the understanding man i had just went to put it in the grow room and found that it was locked n my wife has the key, so instead of bringing it back downstairs i set it on a ledge in a hallway, came down stairs made my other kid some breakfast, went back upstairs for a diaper and discovered the mess, shit happens, he dumps stuff out all the time! he takes a bath n dumps out my shampoo, he goes in the fridge and dumps out my waters! he dumped out a 2x concentrated laundry soap, last week. he is 2! 2 year old do shit like that. im gonna let me wife know about this issue and do what i must about it cuz its getting annoying and kinda expensive as well as kizzurt pointed out potentially dangerous

yo dude , I think you getting a little carried away. If you tell me that your kids never got into anything............ either you are a liar or you don't have kids. 2 years olds are fast and sneaky. Curious about everything. No reason to bash on spencer2121.

$50.

Or your kids life?

I think you need to stop smoking or smoke more, you're not seeing things very clearly if you think losing $50 is just a penalty for this mistake. Want to know the reason your kid isn't drinking it? Probably because he isn't strong enough to pick up a big bottle of liquid over his head to get the liquid out into his mouth. It's fine for now, I'm just trying to warn you before you end up on the news man.

I assume that is a knock against FF. If not, please accept my apologies for assuming. If it is, please explain your comment. I'm sure there are better nutes you can use on your plants, but what's wrong with FF? I have been using their entire schedule for going on 2 years now with great results.
I don't have too much against FF except that they have a screwy way of advertising and recommending which products a grower should use. Main thing is that so many people are using organic Big Bloom in their Fox Farm's all natural living soils alongside Tiger Bloom and Grow Big. So the company makes these great organic soils, a quality line of all natural dry granular plant foods (Peace of Mind) and Big Bloom... and yet the marketing also recommends using Tiger Bloom and Grow Big (not organic, synthetic salts and synthetically chelated) along with those other totally living organic products. A surprising number of people don't even realize the rest of the liquid line isn't even organic.

You get a little slack only for the fact that you manned up about it, but you should be slapped (in the most sincere way) for the fact that you know your 2 year old likes to empty things and you still leave things where he/she can get to it, bad daddy

As a father of 2 toddlers I know how fast and conniving they can be, but as the OP said you cannot leave them alone for 5 minutes, 5 minutes.. YIKES!!

OP you must not leave your child for 1 minute, the only saving grace is he just dumped them out and not down his mouth. My 2 try everything out via the mouth as do most toddlers, count yourself 2 x lucky as accidental ingestion of these chemicals are almost always a trip to the ER; not usually because of the chemical but there is no way to tell just how much was ingested.

Please, remember your children in all situations. I am glad to hear he only poured them out, a small price to pay for what could have happened.

be safe, especially for your kids.

regards,

u are right, i dont need anyone to tell me i was wrong because i already knew that when i discovered the mess, however, you being a father of 2 should know u cant be with them every minute of everyday especially i 5 year old and a two year old, so dont give me that, everything else u said i agree with 100%

A mod should just lock this thread. Nothing productive will come of this going on any longer.

Maybe it was his way of tellin you"don't use fox farm"?I dunno

Good to hear nothin bad happened.

Kizzzzzz......you'll have a little more understanding.....when YOU have kids.YOU will do things also that could lead to a problem.Kinda sounds like someone who never drank tryin to tell an alcoholic how to quit drinkin, kinda hard thing to do when you don't have the experience yanno.
So I know nothing but you're siding with someone that let their kid get a hold of detergent and still left other bottles lying around? Okay man, I know who to listen to.

Your analogy is very weak also. I'd say majority of therapists and rehab professionals have never been an alcoholic and don't personally know how hard it is to quit, but they know the steps to take to quit.

Step 1 to not letting your kid die via you:
don't leave shit sitting around.

I know shit happens, but it doesn't happen repeatedly and if it does, then there is a reason. What's the reason? Oh yeah, you left stuff sitting around.

Regardless of what you think, just because I don't have a kid, I know how to raise one, and I know to not leave chemicals, cleaners, or ANYTHING hazardous including small objects lying around on the floor. Sorry if you had to be taught this the hard way and I won't be doing that.

I'm guessing you're the same type of people that don't buy socket protectors for when your kids are infants and when they electrocute themselves you go, "uhh oops".

I don't have a kid, so if you are assuming I don't then assume no longer, I've already said it three times before so if you are still assuming then get some stronger glasses. I just know that my cleaners and everything else are going to be in a child proof cabinet or on a shelf (that I may have to build myself, OMG) that is at my chest level or higher. Sorry you guys don't agree with me, just stating my honest opinion.

Just some nutes this week. Laundry detergent last week. Both of which could easily kill a 2 yr old. The hell with your nutes, Im concerned for the kid....

EXACTLY. That's all I'm saying.

You're worried about the nutes and this and that. ALL I've been saying this whole time is that you need to be more careful in your home, anyone agreeing with him instead of me may need to heed the advice as well. I know a kid will try to eat a crayon, or shove it somewhere they aren't supposed to, that's what kids do. KIDS DONT NEED TO TOUCH CLEANER OR NUTRIENTS!!!! How dense are you people?

Can't wait till you have a kid..you must be planning to have him on a 3 foot leash attached to your belt loop 24/7.
Kids are kids man, you were..did your parents cover you in bubblewrap and keep you on their hip at all times? I doubt it..don't get me wrong im not saying it was the smartest idea to leave your nutes laying around where the little dude could get to them, but kids just get into shit, is going to happen regardless of what you think. Like i said i can't wait till you have one and see its easy to talk things in theory but wait until you have to deal with them yourself. I think the guy here is just a good normal dude like most of us here, made a mistake..owned up to it..sure he won't let it happen again. But to lecture the guy on how he should act with his kid when you don't have the first hand experience yourself is just a bit like me coming here to tell people how to grow bud when i've never done it before.

You do realize how capable 2 yr old kids are i hope? They arn't as helpless as you would think, they can figure out how to get into things you would think they'd never be able to.

I'm guessing you also missed the part where his kid JUST RECENTLY got into a bottle of detergent? I wouldn't be freaking out if this was just the kid randomly knocking over some bottles, getting scared, and staring at it. He stated multiple times that his kid is prone to getting into things, SO WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE THE BOTTLE OF NUTRIENTS SITTING WITHIN RANGE?!

You people must be under estimating how easy it is to put something on a shelf, or SHOCKER, take it with you. I know that kids get into stuff, my kids are going to get into so much shit it's probably going to kill me, BUT my kids won't be getting into two things for sure:
1. Laundry detergent
2. Liquid nutrients

I can be CERTAIN that my kid will NEVER come into contact with these things until he/she is using them to do what they are intended to be used for. Sorry if you all didn't think to protect your cabinets, etc. You all probably leave the basement door open and pray the kid doesn't start to come down the stairs because you're "just gonna be a minute".

I know what they are capable of. You all are the ones leaving the things around for your kids to get into. (not you personally HankDank)
