Now kizz i want u to know im not bad mouthing you, i find it quite noble for you to be concerned about the safety of another persons child, and im with you on keeping kids safe, weather they are yours or not..but im telling you, from experience you cant baby proof the world even tho we want to try. Mistakes on our part are just going to happen no matter how hard we try
A kids main world is in their home. When my son was 2 years old our entire house, his world, was baby proofed. All household cleaners, chemicals, etc were behind cabinet doors with safety locks on them that sometimes I even had trouble with. Not trying to piss anyone off but it's not that tough to watch after your kids... My son NEVER came remotely close to ingesting chemicals or handling anything that could have potentially caused him serious harm, or death. I'm not calling anyone a bad parent here, but c'mon, that kid should be the most important thing in your life. Fuck your spilled nutrients dude. Those you can replace. You can't replace your child. Take the extra hour, 2 hours, 20 hours, fuck...whatever it takes to make sure your house, his world, is 100% safe for him to roam and be a kid. Your kid sticking a lego up his butt is a lot different than drinking a bottle of mr clean.

My two cents!

This thread is lame. Who would have thought Parenting 101 would be taught on a forum by a bunch of stoners and growers. Not going to diss the guy, accidents happen, but what discussion did you think would result from posting this story on the internet?

Yea kids die every day from parents neglect. No big deal. Stoners and growers are stupid people anyway. Why would anyone attempt to spark any type of rationalism from THOSE people... let's diss them, not they guy that could have been planning a funeral for his 2 year old this week.

Better yet, I won't say anything else about the kid. I'm just glad he was able to salvage some of his nutes. Sure would have been shitty having that little brat ruin $60 worth of nutes. Damn kids... (wtf? lol?)

I mean the whole concept of this thread is lame, from beginning to end. It seemingly had no point to it except to invite people to tell him he's a bad parent... even from other people growing it illegally indoors risking their child being taken away from them if they get caught.... and yes even fires (I know of someone whose place burned down because of faulty electrical related to a grow).

I wouldn't be concerned about the nutes either, but I at least acknowledge the fact that everyone has a momentary lapse of judgement. It's easy to get distracted... set something down, and look the other way a minute... and like everyone said kids are fast. One minute you're watching little Suzie play in the yard, then the neighbour comes over and starts talking to you, next thing you know she's by the side of the road. Happens every day to millions of people, like it or not. There are things called accidents and luckily 99% of the time nothing bad happens as a result. Its always easy for one person to say if they were the parent of that child they would have never let that happen.

The guy already said he locks them up usually so it's not like he has the habit of storing things 2 feet off the ground. But go on, yell at the dude because it's more fun to be righteous.

Edit: And I'm not knocking stoners for giving him a hard time and calling them bad parents, I know many good parents and grandparents who are/were users of marijuana... but I'm more or less pointing out that we're all here to read, talk, and learn about marijuana rather than some stupid parenting mistake to divide us.

Did you even read the original post??

and hes 2 so yeah, he did the same thing last week with a full bottle of laundry detergent.
The same thing last week would mean he does have a habit of storing things 2 feet from the ground.

Third times a _______. You fill in the blank.

Finally someone else with a brain.

It's good to know there are perfect people here on earth.....

EVERY ONE understands what your sayin bro.....you have not figured out any thing that isn't basic common sense.

My girlfriends son died at 2 1/2.He and his mommy we're the only ones home and mom had worked for 13 hrs.At nap time mom an son lay down together.Son wakes up,PUSHES A CHAIR TO THE FRONT DOOR AND UNLOCKS A DEADBOLT AND CHAIN and got out side and made it to a pond and drowned.Let me guess....bad parenting.

The caps are because of you stupid statement about how the kid ain't gonna bein pushin chairs blah blah blah.

When you have children you will be eating alot of words.

I did read the original post, it didn't mention the laundry detergent. I did however read that post later on. He also dumped out shampoo, water, etc.... the thing is we don't know the complete scenario's, which I am inclined to learn before I take the moral high ground on most issues. Now if the kid was playing with bleach, drano, or any other lethal chemical that is a different story... which I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he stores those properly. Blue baby syndrome (caused sometimes by continual exposure to excess of nitrates) would be an extreme concern if the child was less than a year, but supposedly in older children and adults it may not have lasting effects if taken care of meaning it would be unlikely to cause death or long-term illness. I believe most laundry detergents would only make people sick as well. Correct me if I am wrong though.

And yes, I agree kids should not be playing with things that make them sick to begin with. My position is simply that many people are blowing this out of proportion - the guy made some mistakes, but they are not as bad as you all make them out to be compared to many parenting mistakes and the worst case scenario likely would have not been death if he did ingest nutrients. Besides, the kid would probably taste it and spit it out IF he was even to drink it.

That is my last comment in this thread though as I don't wish to make this topic even larger, lol. Peace to all.

Hard to imagine laundry detergent killing you. It's just soap. There was this girl on an addiction show that ate the shit all day long and couldn't stop.

:wall::wall::wall:... the original post hasn't changed so it did in fact mention the laundry detergent LOL. I thought I was high...

So... it's ok to leave out chemicals as long as their not 100% lethal. He can play with the Tide, but not the Clorox. Got it. I'll remember that next time I have a 2 year old in my house. As long as it doesn't make me a bad parent he might as well hit this bong too... it's not going to kill him, right? lol

Look, just because my opinion of this guy differs from yours doesn't make you any better or worse than me and vice versa. You raise yours kid how you want. ie: let him play with lethal and non lethal chemicals... and I'll raise mine how I want. ie: not letting him get into the household cleaners and MJ nutrients. Different people make the world go round. You think I'm an idiot. I think you're an idiot. The world is an imperfect place.

yeah i dont spank my kid hes 2 man, i could see if he was like 6 but i dont think hitting kids is gonna teach a child anything but to hit someone else for doing something they dont like. i prefer the go to ur room with no tv (for a given time) approach so that all they can do is think about what got them there.. but even he is too young for that. 2 year olds are very curious about everything, and very smart! the child proofing went well and i thank everyone for they're concern,

i was joking bro!! I think spanking not "hitting" your kid is a necessity... ANd 2 is too young, i would wait till 4. Once they can reason and think of their actions and consequences, next they want to misbehave, they will highly consider that spanking the parent gave em..
