My last ditch attempt

Ok, I'm sorry if I sound arsey - but on my last request for help, I ended up talking to myself for a month.

I'd really like help, this is my last attempt on RIU to find help...

The first thing is temperature... I need fans as I am getting up to 37C. I have a small 4" ducted fan and I am currently putting coolish air into the 3m x 2.5m makeshift tent the I have hooked up. But the result is 'F'-all.. I might as well be farting in there..

So, keeping in mind 3m x 2.5m tent. What size fans do I need to cool this bitch down? I'm feed up with buying shit of the net, then I find out its not big enough etc..

___

The next problem I have is some sort of burning of something on the leaves, but I will troll through thread I saw about this first to see if there's an answer in there.

Thanks to he who may reply...

Its easy. You want to change the air every min. So now what fan do I need to do that?
Now for the crappy part. Math. LxWxH = cubic feet. so lets use round numbers. 5x5x6= 150 cubic feet. So now you know how much air you need to remove.
Now find a fan thats rated at say 200cfm (cfm = cubic feet per min.) that will pull some extra to allow for any efficiency loss from your ducting etc.

I hope this helps of what light are you running?

Thanks for the reply.

I have a 600w HPS, I was looking to upgrade to 1200w - but this is out of the question all the time I'm unable to control 600w.

My temps also go down to 11C, I have two 2ft heat tubes and a thermostat for them - but don't know how to wire the thermostat...

Are there any other better options for temp control without vlasting out two many Watts?

sorry im in the US and we dont do the metric thing so im not sure of your temps. But for most tents a 600 will need a sealed vented hood. Hell my 400 does and it stays at 80deg.

temps are a nightmare to controll in tents your best best is to get air cooled hood like a cool tube or somthing i run 1800watts in a tent and it is a pain in the neck to controll.

In celcius, I think I need between 24-28C so 37C and 11C are completely outta control

Thing is, its a makeshift tent. It's in my attic, so I put large bubblewrap around for insulation then heavy duty plastic so the light is contained. I think then cooltube has to be my next investment.

you have air going in, but do you have air going out?
At the moment I have the doors wide open to let the air out - Its not the best option as I am not containing the air. But I'd end up with stupid high temps otherwise.

So I think, a bigger fan is in order as mine was bought as a 1.2m x 1.2m tent package, so too small for air out. But I will use it for air in instead.
A cool tube for the bulb - This seems to be the norm for temp control.

Then no doubt I will have to find a heater if these 2ft heat tubes aren't sufficient.

Thanks for your input. :joint:

I run dual 600's in my basement with a 6 inch inline fan that pushes 400 cfm. I only have the fan at half speed. I have air cooled reflectors. You must remember that growing is harder in the summer months than the winter usually. The attic may not be a good place to grow. You can only cool your room as much as the air temps your sucking in without AC.

Also, if switching to air cooled reflectors still isn't enough to do the job, you could add extra exhaust fans at the top of the tent, drawing the hot air straight out the top, as it's rising off the lights. Yeah, I knows it's a bitch, but sometimes you don't have much choice if you don't want to cook your babies.lol :)
