My Lazy Arsed Grow Journal

You ph the run off fella. I'm also in coco and find that it does go up in the run off so check your res'/feed tank ph daily. Water in at a lower ph to counter balance this effect too (5.8/5.9). They will also benefit from more nitrogen too imo.
just been looking at your journal man , wicked looking plants , really liked the look of those cheese quakes , did you do a smoke report on them ?

Thanx & no mate I never did get round to one but it wasn't the strongest or most memorable strain for me tbh mate. Probabbly my least fav' strain to date too

The clone is supposed to be good, I haven't had the pleasure of either growing or smokin any of it though tbh.

hi Robbie, i have been rereading your journal and sorry i missed the problem you are having with your little one.
I have not used coco or hesi products before. I will tell ya mate, that feed chart is an absoulte nightmare to look at .. i cannot figure it out to save the life of me and i aint even stoned right now (could be the problem)
i see del66666 has been here. hit him up for some advice if you can ..he uses hesi product.
my experience with light yellow leaves has been that they are nitrogen deprived. Are they gettting enough water? could this be dehydration as well..these little girls need a lot of water. Test the weight of the pots to see when they are dry against a good watering when they are wet. thats what i do in soil..sorry i cant be of any more help.
good luck.

Right well ive just tested my PH meter and its calibrated perfectly , bought a calibration solution of 7 and my meter read 7.0 and stayed at 7.0 for 5 or so minutes with no fluctuation so alls good there .....
going to try the a flush of 5.8 ph water later and get readings for the run off for you all :)
So if im ph'ing the water to 5.8 what should i expect the ph of the run off to be ?

I guess it would depend on the ph of the substrate......but I am no PH expert, I haven't PH'd anything in years. Bit I would assume it works in a similar fashion to say adding hot water to cold water, you will end up with a temp in between. I studied it in physics and even though I did pass I slept for most of the classes, lol.

heres the info on my coco from fertile fibre :-

Technical properties of coir

pH: 5.4 – 6.8 Perfect for use as a growing medium
Air Filled Porosity (AFP): 10 – 11% perfect for use as a growing medium.
The Air Filled Porosity (AFP) of a growing medium defines the air spaces in the pot needed for good water dispersal and drainage, and to allow good healthy root growth.
Root growth: With coir you will find this will be much faster, making it excellent for cuttings. In some cases freshly repotted plants may appear not to be growing for a week or so but if you check, they are growing roots rather than tops.
Water Absorption Time: Immediate wetting/re-wetting time is immediate
Cation Exchange capacity: In excess of 120 meq/1000 combined with a good conductivity figure allowing holding and dispersal of nutrients.
Carbon/Nitrogen: Ratio of between 90:1 and 110:1. This combined with coir’s lignin content makes it a good long term growing medium.
Nutrition: Coir contains a useful amount of available potassium, and small quantities of:

  • Nitrogen
  • Phosphorous
  • Calcium
  • Magnesium
  • Sulphur
  • Copper
  • Zinc
  • Manganese
  • Molybdenum
  • Boron
  • Iron

i feed mine at least every other day....i never let the coco get very dry in the early days ..............i feed 5ml per litre ......ph varied beyween 5.8 and 6.5 ish.............i like to vary ph so all nutes are taken up..........i add epsom salts for magnesium as and when needed as coco hold eats it.............if you are already doing all this im lost

well iv just done some research and found most people say 1 teaspoon per gallon for foiler feeding , just measured up a gallon and gave it a good spray because lights are off at minute , lights are on in 5 hours so should i add a small amount into my feed aswell or just leave it at that for now ?
