theory 2: rent came due and his stupid landlord won't take payment in fin's awesome bitcoins.
likelihood: very high. spammy invented a lie about his brother dying and set up the mason miracle fund in order to try to scrape together some rent. plan failed, so spammy skipped town and went back to texas to stay with his parents for a while. spreads the lie about his brother dying over the internet in a feeble hope of convincing his landlord that there is a true family emergency, in order to avoid paying back rent and deposits.
time to do some amateur detective work now.
