Looks like a 90cri red bump. These should grow great with that spectrum. I grow with the first two of this spectrums and they do great when dialed in. The third one i havent tried but afaik its a special horti spectrum a bit like blurple, almost only blue and red. All of these should grow well as long as in the right environment.

Op, what kind of minimum temps are you keeping? Also not so clear here, did you say the plants were happy with 6500k leds or flouros?

This "led is hype, ill return it" is something seem 100s of times with led growers unwilling to relearn how to grow with leds. Every single one that took advice instead of blaming the technology managed to sort it out eventually. You should try to be atleast 79F and see what the plants look like. High rh for veg as always. Then dial in nutes.

I have a whole new set up,but im waiting on some tools to finish it,as well as a 4x2x2 seedling tent.i just put up my 4x4x6.5 tent and hung the 730 watt led,still have to hook up the filter,inline fans,oscillating fans,humidifier and heater.i spent some money and bought all. Ac infinity and im super impressed with the build quality on everything.their humidifier,heater even the vent hoses they make are really high quality.i also bought the pro controller and the seedling heat mat and dcontroller
Im mixing my organic soil tomorrow and going to compost for 2 weeks.ill take some pics tomorrow when i do all the work.

Yeah but what minimum temps??? Ec in and out of your plants???? Were missing info here, it was asked a fair bit ago.

Organic soil, ok sorry. No ec. That makes it harder. I suggest hydro style nutes with ec/ph meter. I like coco but i think you can succeed in soil aswell. But led grows really really need the option of adjusting nute levels according to needs.
With leds the actual nute uptake is much more related to transpiration. Thas why were all screaming environment, cause with out heat on the leaf you need to push the plant to drink properly. Then youd have to dial in nutes. But how do you do that when your nutes are already in the soil?
And just try to add some pics, plant unhappy is so broad, is it slouchy plant posture or color/defs or what?
Im sure this can be worked out but i dont know exactly how to do it of all your nutes are in the soil already.

That all are generating PAR so they're valid as grow lights. Left is going to give a taller plant with higher yield, center is more of a veg light, and Right is proof that disco blurple will never die.

Baby steps!!!your throwing a lot at me at omce here......ill do what i can,but ive bought all these ammendments...etc.i guess this grow will be an experiment.

Agree with 99% of what you've written and, until a week ago, would have gone with the 79° metric. But "that was then, this is now".

I've drunk the Bugbee Koolaid, no questions about it. I've read and watched everything I can find of his stuff and have incorporated the results of his research in my growing processes.

About a year ago, Mitch Westmoreland released a couple of videos about the research that he's doing for his PhD and, in short, as a result of his research he suggests that growers run canopy temps to 85* until about week two of flower and then drop temps so that the temp at the flower tops is <78°, though some cultivars do better at even lower temps.

The title of the video is in the graphic below. That's the money shot right there.

At the advice of someone here on RIU, I watched the video "We the growers - Episode 21". At 55:24, the interviewer asks Bugbee about these temps and he asks the question "Is that for grows in ambient CO2?"

With that, I slapped my forehead because I know that Bugbee's advice is for the CO@-enhanced world but my little brain didn't connect the dots.

Bugbee's reply was that for ambient CO2, keep temps in veg at 78-80 and drop if even lower in flower. I think he said there would be, overall, about a 6° F difference between the two environments (yeh, flower in a 'fridge…)

Oops.

I've been running up to 85° for three years now, not realizing that metric was for CO2 levels at 1200PPM. Great yields but I wasn't getting the cannabinoid kick that I was getting when I bought from the local dispensaries and, based on what Westmoreland has publishes, my 80°±F temps in flower were the likely culprit.

With that news, I switched things around in my tent to keep temps below 80 and, in my setup, it's a PITA. My seedlings are at day 23 and I'm lighting them a 650µmol (and rising). The issue is keeping temps down and keeping RH down enough to keep VPD at 1.0. There'a learning curve there but if the good Doctor recommends it, I take his word for it.

Anyway, I think you're spot on re. the spectra but, based on this new info, I'm trying to stay below 80°.

Yeh, there's lot of piece parts.

This might help you compartmentalize things. Crawl, walk, run - right?

Tackle these things one at time. Some are really easy, others are more involved but it's really amazing how well cannabis does once you get things nailed down.

I just cleaned out my room,set up the tent.just waiting on amazon for a couple things....always waiting on amazon......fuckers

The tent was a bitch to set up by myself,but got r done!i had to grind an inch off all the horizinal poles cause i just couldnt get them together,impossible!went togetherxfreat with the redneck mods.

And yes i feed my dog,she just got done nursing 13 puppies,,,shes drained

I just came across this and found it interesting. I generally use t5 for cloning and seedlings. I have photo bio lights 32w bars in the mother area and I just finally pulled my last two 315 cmh hoods because I have not used them in over a year. My finding is that after the clones or seedlings get established enough in solo cups I put them in 2 gallon pots and then they go into the led area. My clones that have been mothers do fine with the led lights at all stages. I do find that I use double the dolomite lime with my dry amendments when I up the pot sizes. The plants do tend to need proper ph water and a lack of calmag can be more noticeable in the led. I agree that I did not have to watch ph or didl ants use cal mag as much under hid.

@Gsplover11, how many watt total are you 6500k that these plants prefer? It's hard to understand the problem given you said you have 48w of the led T8, but you didn't say how many watts of the fluorescents.

Interesting info.
I’ve never read or heard much about dropping temps in flower and chase vpd with the lower RH as well. Everyone just typically states their typical vpd and what is “ideal”.
I’m guessing that value could and should change throughout a grow?

The pants are under 2-2' leds i think a total of 80 watts

The full spectrums the total wattage was the same,80ish watts

But every time i out under the full spectrum leds the plants wre wikted and unhappy looking in under 2 hours,take them away and put in the 6500ks and happy again,
Im transplanting into 1/2 gallon pots today and ill add the full spectrum leds and see what happens,even if they wilt ill keep them under for at least a few days to see if they bounce back,i think they jyst were not ready,too young for that spectrum,it coyldnt be intensity because the wattage was the same...

do you know which one you have? Yellow color, 5000k white, or pinkish white?

If this is the case, the 3 options of Barinha led full spectrum have more proportion of red to blue per the link above. But it seems lots of different charts for fluorescent spectrum. Is the above specifically for a Barinha? Just checking, because if I search a general descriptor like 6500k fluorescent and the spectrum charts are all over the place.

The fluorescent here is flat like with spikes evenly distrubuted



I found the following generic chart. The fluorescents are more like sunlight I would say. Even seem to go off the visible ends

So that is a lot higher in the red side. Maybe you're right about that being the problem.
