Hey guys heres what im planning for a setup. I will be growing a total of my 6 plants (mmj) to stay in the legal limit. I want to turn either stay with DWC or add a bubbleponic system with it. I just have a few questions before buy this, im new to all of this :D. btw i know I could build all of this myself but I would rather just buy it from the company :D.

1. With this kind of system, could I grow plants in it with a veg time of 2 weeks and flower time of 5 weeks? Ive heard of doing this buy how much bud do you think I would yield? 1-3 ounces maybe?

2. Would I be able to grow a mother in one of the spots? My plan was to grow a mother in one of the spots, have clones and seeds be starting in the other 2 or 3 so there would be room for the mother, then have my other plants that are towards the end of vegging and into flowering in the other tub?

3. Does this system have big enough nets? Are the 4" nets fine?

4. I planned to have a CFL 65 watt daylight bulb on each plant with a relfector for vegging, and a 65 watt soft white for flowering (plus 2 other 42 watt soft whites), will this work fine. Note ill have mylar all around the grow.

Thanks for answering my questions dudes. I wanna order everything tomorrow :D

Sure, just remember as the plants get bigger you may have to change out the water more often. I would say first time around you may get an oz You will learn a lot and probably double that on the second.

2. Would I be able to grow a mother in one of the spots? My plan was to grow a mother in one of the spots, have clones and seeds be starting in the other 2 or 3 so there would be room for the mother, then have my other plants that are towards the end of vegging and into flowering in the other tub?

You could keep a mother there. only leaves you three spots but you can, just drop the lights over the kids a bit closer and keep vegging.

3. Does this system have big enough nets? Are the 4" nets fine?

Sure, the size of the hole dosent matter because the roots are not confined to a pot. I have 3 foot tall plants in 2 inch net pots.

4. I planned to have a CFL 65 watt daylight bulb on each plant with a relfector for vegging, and a 65 watt soft white for flowering (plus 2 other 42 watt soft whites), will this work fine. Note ill have mylar all around the grow.

You may want to consider something a bit stronger for flower but the veg is fine.
Good Luck to ya.

Hey guys, quick question, can i transplant a mother who is still in the veg stage that was hydroponically grown to a soil medium so i can clone her, or is this a bad idea? The idea is to keep a spot open to keep my clones/seedlings growing.

Yes you can MostlyCrazy Guided me through this yesterday. Separate what roots you can and then just cut in out. Pull your plant up cube and all, and plant that mofo! Later you have to go back and do some flushes and get those dead roots out you missed in the tank. My plant(one I removed) drooped for 6 hours but this morning she's already looking fine again. Lets not jack his thread though. LOL

What I have decided for best results is to not go with CFL lights. Im going to just get 1 of the tubs to hold 4 plants and get 1 good light, my only question is which light would be needed? im thinking 400watts would be enough for the 4 guys but what do you guys think?

If i do decide to build it myself, what size bucket should i get? And should i stick with the 4" nets?

Ahh, whos thread is this?
Oh yea. noobs will be noobs.

400w is a lot of power for that size container. What I am thinking about is the size of not only the plants but the root system and how often adjustments will need to be made to maintain the size. Personally I think a 250w would be a better match.

If you want larger plants and more buds, the size of the hole dont matter but the res size does. If you use a 400 watt I would suguest you use a larger res, like twice as large.

I plan for this to be just a personal crop and im growing it in my closet so i think ill stick with the 4 gal tub. For the 250w light, what lighting system would you suggest, cfl or hid?

All in all, 4 plants, 1 4g tub, just what light :D. Or, how big of a tub could a 250w light handle?

The local hydro store sells a 250watt enclosed for 191$, and the 400w is 193$.. Should i just go for the 400w? Also, should i get one thats enclosed or not?lll[

If you plan on growing in a closet then yes most definitely an air cooled light thats enclosed.
You will need to run air through it and out of the closet.

You want your intake of air low and exhaust high. In my last closet grow I cut a hole in the ceiling and vented into the attic. I saved the piece I cut out and replaced it (with Spackle and paint) when I was done.

If you want more then an OZ per harvest then you are better off with a 400 watt.
You are going to need about a foot clearance and should average between 2 and 4 Oz's
Heres a shot of my cabinet. 400 Watt in the center and two 26w CFL's on each side. Its 48" wide and 24" deep. I expect between four to six OZ my first run, then average eight oz. I know a lot of tricks though.

I built the system. I am using about the same amount of water as the little bucket you are looking at. But the water doesn't stay in the tub. Under the small picture below are links to my journals, Dual cabinet build will give you an idea. Oh, and I just re adjusted the light so it runs front to back. Its behind that yellow thing I made as a shade so I can take pics. by going front to back I get better light distribution

If you want something like this and are going to use the hydro setup you posted, Just get two and set them side by side.

what would be more worth it for more bud? 250 watts worth of cfls on the girls, or a 250 watt hps?
Go with a 400 w hps if you can. You can't get really tight buds with cfl's, no matter what folks post here. I have flowered with cfl's, a 150w hps, a 250 w hps and I have used all 3 types together and I still wanted tighter buds. I am purchasing a 400 w hps, so we'll see what that gives me this grow. Basically, the more light you use, of the right spectrum, the bigger, tighter buds you will get. :peace:
