hey guys, first time poster here.

Here is my very first setup, stains ( a.m.s - and white widow x big bud )

There almost 2 weeks old, i have the light a far distance away from the plants which i;m woundering is a bad thing? i dont thinks an all powerfull light.. (125w) but there growing nicly. Are there to far stretched? i have plenty of room so i dont mind if they are tall...

The soil i have used, is just a standed potting mix from the local nursery. says it feeds plants (tomato) up to four months >.< mixed in with perlite (about 40%). and some tomato nutrients. is this ok for now, i plan to buy some worm castings/ some good nutrients.....

i will be postings every week to show you guys how its coming along :) _DSC0140.jpg_DSC0137.jpg_DSC0136.jpg_DSC0138.jpg

not stretched yet and i would move the lights around 3-5 inches away from the top and also put a fan on it to strengthen the stem

thanks max. i have a fan on them, just cant see ;) i dont no if i can move the light :/ do they have to be that close the whole time? can what happens if i just leave it where it is ?

Tall is good but lower that light you don't want them streching this early cause they may end up falling over once they start growing bigger leaves

You will need more lights. As far as soil sounds like it will work as long as there not slow/time release nutes in it organic soil is the best imo

Nice.

I have a similar setup: 125 watt CFL 65k, using Hydrofarm hood. The big one was started on 3/28/11. I just put her outside last night. I kept the light about 4-5 inches away. I started on 24/0 for a couple weeks then switched to 18/6, now I'm just hardening it off. I'm using FoxFarm soil right now. I've used MG, SuperSoil, and Kellogg, each with great results.

I'm confident I could finish one plant (seed to harvest) using this light if I really wanted to. It's a great light. Keep it close to your plants and you'll get tight buds.

Do you guys think i should top my plants? im still trying to decide. i like the look of non topped, just one big stem of bud. but i notice with the topped plants thats have many tops only yeild at the top of the stems?
