It's really your choice if you want to use a 24/0 or a 18/6 light cycle for vegetation. I will tell you that if you use a 24/0 light cycle, your plants will grow faster. You can switch to an 18/6 light cycle at anytime during veg.

I'm just starting my first grow, but i have read a lot of posts on this forum and others.
Anything between 24/0 and 18/6 is perfect for veg (the more light the faster they grow) then 12/12 for flowering.

The seedling stage lasts for about 2 weeks, and the vegetative stage lasts generally for 4 weeks. Then you switch to flower under a 12/12 light schedule and the stage of flower will depend of the strain.

or would you recommend leaving them under the cfls for 2 week and change enviroment and would it be worth getting a MH for the flowering 4 weeks then switching to the hps for the flower ?

MH is great for veg because it provides more of a blue spectrum for the plants to grow. While an HPS is great for flowering because it provides more of the red spectrum. If you can swing getting an MH for your grow, then I would definitely recommend it.
