It varies, but by mid-to-late flower some buds are within a couple of inches. The average at that stage is probably about 6-8 inches? With better canopy control, I would probably shoot for an even 6 inches across the board.

Ahh ok, I still have a lotta room to play with then as far a lowering it.

Thanks Joe! lol...yes it's about 2" away from the diode.It's bent a lil bit because it was growing into the board,I did an emergency supercrop.
Being that close hasn't harmed the bud 1 bit.

In the lights on pic,you can see where it usually sits under the qb,before it starts leaning over from me trying to get in there to take the pic.

Well, good to know being so close to the qb doesn't seem to hurt the buds. I've been nervous that my girls were going to stretch up to the light, but they're nowhere close...probably could've eeked another week of veg out of them. :weed:

You'll be good.Airflow is key.I've had buds within 4" of my 50 &75 watt cobs with no issues or detriment to the plant or colas.The green crack is approx 6"away,only reason they aren't lower is the stakes are in the way.
