well back in the day... they did things different, lol. it was more about the cost of material than safety.
there is a ground on the thicker set...its the bare copper wire. or at least thats the wire that looks thicker!

and yes, thats what i was trying to explain earlier, the second set of wires is a piggyback to another heater.

Ok. It makes sense now at least lol but the ground )bare wire) looks to be coming from the piggy back? The 2 sole wires come in from the top of the framework and a bit further to the right which makes me assume these are the wires running from the panel as it would be the closest run but would I still be technically grounded if the ground wire is ran theough the piggy back to the other heater? I'm just being annoying and paranoid now and I should just stfu and install the damn thing yeah? Lol

So I only need the 2 hots and a ground for this outlet correct since it will be 240v only from the box? Everywhere I read has instructions for hooking up a line but they all included a neutral, this is mereley cause they're instructions for wiring a dryer which draws 240 and 120 right? guess I could just hook it up and see.

Oh snap!
not only is it there, it works! Lol. Still gotta re-wire the piggy back and come up on a 240v timer but she's in and working! Thanks for all the help guys. I stepped back and realized I was overthinking it. Smoked a bowl called an electrician for some info . 20 minutes and a trip to ace later were rolling up to code and fire free :knock on wood: lol. Got ur +reps coming for ya wednesay. (The next time I'm on an actual computer) thanks again guys my gf is stoked on being able to blowdry her hair anytime she wants already haha

Holy shit, this means I can finally vaccum my tents anytime I want rather than waiting for one to turn on/off

Can I connect awg-8 wires to connect the outlet when i re-wire the piggyback? I can go out and buy the proper guage just tryin to save money. I know awg-8 would be overkill (600v rating but would it be ok to use? Also its multiplecopper strands rather than 1 is this ok as well?

lol sorry man, ive been at work. glad you have figured it out!
the stranded wire is actually superior to the single strand (aka solid) wire.
yes you can hook it up to the outlet, however theres a trick to how you do it... let me draw a diagram right quick, brb....

Dude, ur a pimp. Seriously lol. Thank you. Its POORING rain and windy as shit so I'm like not wanting to walk back to ace to get the 12 guage wire especially if I can safely run an 8

lol man im not a pimp... i just hate too see hard working people get ripped off by electrical contractors charging hundreds of dollars for jobs that take 5 mins and cost 5$ out of the electricians pocket.
im just an electrician with more experience than i really care to talk about, trying to help out some fellow growers. i learned hhow to grow for free, so its the least i can do to help others.

From what I can see in the pics ur just basically saying to side splice a few lengths down from the outlet yeah? Just strip a section a few inches down from where the outlets is. And tie into there

no, no... i was showing you how to connect that #8 to the outlet. no splicing involved. if the outlet only has one set of scews on it, then you will have to side splice

Would I be able to simply connect the two. Sets of wires and the add a length of the 8 from the outlet to each donnected set and cap with a wirenut? Did that even manke any sense? I suck at explaining this lol
