ok so heres my question i have a growbox that i constructed in my closet it 3 feet tall by 3 feet wide by 2 foot deep. right know i have 4 plants germinating in there. There under two 2foot flouresents. I plan on keeping them under there for a bout 2-3 weeks then i was going to replace them with a 400 watt hps/ballast.i have two comp. fans one for intake and one for exhaust. My question is when i switch over the light will the 400 watt HPS become to hott in my growbox?

thnk for your help

Yes and how tall are you going to grow them cause you will need a least a foot and a half or more space between the light and the plants so they don't burn the tops for the heat issue put another fan in

I agree w/ the above about the heat - maybe a cooltube would help
you would also be better off w/ 2-3 exhaust fans and a passive intake(aka a hole to let air in)

Don't even use that 400w HPS till you get more height in that box. That HPS will turn it into an oven.

Wrap everything in mylar.

Buy/make a 6" cool tube with a reflector on the top side. Connect the tube to insulated ducting, connect to 6" intake fan drawing in cool outside air, connect the other end to a 6" flange as the exhaust out the box. With such a small space to work with, even a cheap 6" exhaust fan from Lowe's, Menards, Hemp Depot, etc will work.
