Hi everyone, first time posting to the forum and brand new to growing! I currently have two flowering Girl Scout Cookies growing organically outdoors in southern California. Unfortunately both have spider mites(early stages), lucky me...
One of the girls looks about ready to harvest, whereas the other seems to be a few weeks behind on maturation although they were both started from seeds at the same time. To make it easy I'll call them plant A, the more mature one, and plant B, the less mature one.
I'm thinking of doing a partial harvest on plant A because some of the buds look ready to harvest with around 25% amber trichomes(though I'm partially R/G colorblind so there may be more that I don't notice), whereas the lower buds don't seem to be ready, with very little to no amber trichomes. Also from what I've read it seems mites will leave once the buds are drying? Is that accurate? If not, any tips on getting rid of them organically?
Anyways, the main question...
Is it possible to harvest only the mature buds not, and wait for the rest? If so, what is the best way to do this? I will post some pictures below of some of the more mature buds. Any thoughts on whether or not they are ready to harvest? I fertilized once a week since it was a seedling with an algae based fertilizer, and the leaves are beginning to yellow and fall off.
The following two pictures are of the main cola, two different angles one with flash one without
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to help me out, I've got quite a bit to learn and appreciate your input!
