Need help with my slow growth and I don't why

So I am currently on day 9 since the cotyledon leaves opened up and it's just barely visible but she's finally getting the second set of leaves. I am using 3 40w fluorescent U-shaped lights and the grow medium is soil and I am stumped with the slow growth.

Looks fine for 9 days to me. Some seedlings take time. Are they 40W actually draw? Or 40w replacements?
I just got 3 new 40W fluorescent U-shaped bulbs and I am sorry but I don't understand what you mean. Each one puts out 40watts of neutral colored spectrum and I know that t12/t8 are older and I am just on my third attempt at growing so I apologize for not understanding

Here's my baby girl on day 10 and I am just curious if anyone has any advice or suggestions for something that they can see that I don't. Also I am just glad that it's doing so much better than the other week.

Forgot to mention that I am growing indoors with soil and no nutrients added yet just watering her every other day and I am noticing that she's been using up more water and probably have to water every day!?20210315_091340.jpg

Keep them in a warm environment. I think you're fine. The roots are pushing themselves around. One the growth heads up above the soil you will be surprised how fast they can grow.

It is topped off with an inch or two or sphagnum moss but it's all soil and it's because it's extremely dry where I live and I don't have the money for a tent yet just getting started
my old head Dad used to grow and has been a big help as well as the people that I have been in contact with on here so far and the sphagnum really helps the soil to not get bone dry and also I had a little bit of stretch in the first couple days and I placed it to bury some but I was out of soil and my Dad's used sphagnum for years with amazing success and he suggested it and I think it's definitely helped

I'm always amazed by how much change is happening every day now and I am just nervous that is the best one yet it's my third attempt and I don't want to be acting like I'm safe because I know that it can get bad quickly and I am struggling with that thing new growers do fighting to stay out and let it do it's thing lol.

Well it looks good. If you wanna try and kill the stretch get yourself a small 6500k cfl bulb. They are all I use now until they get their 1st couple sets of leaves.. I've had great results.IMG_5748.JPGIMG_5348.JPG

Actually raise the plant or lower the lights. Spectrum is not an issue at this stage. Also you can bury that lanky stem when repotting. More root growth and shorter plants. Only suggestion is fish emulsion as foliar or in water after PH'ing.

Ladybirds in your tent? Love it.
